Make sure you do not have an air lock in the head. There is a small bleed screw on the RHS of the head to bleed the air out.

Chevy van overheating n won't blow hot air

Bummer deal! Several things could cause overheating. Each needs checked. Does the radiator fan turn on. Is there a visible leak. Could have a head gasket starting to go. Could be a bad radiator cap. Could be deposit plugging the radiator.

When low on coolant the heater does not get hot coolant. If that's not the problem, could be a bad vent motor control that can't open the heater vent door. Each need checked and eliminated or fixed. Hope this helps. http://www.auto-tune-up-and-repair-options.com/Radiator-cooling-system.html

Why is my car overheating?

You might have a clogged radiator. If so replace the radiator. I would first replace the thermostat as it might be bad. When they go bad they usually stay stuck in the closed position. When closed there is no flow of water to or from the radiator. You can check the thermostat by removing it, it is located on your upper radiator hose, the return hose. To check it boil a pan of water and and using a pair of pliers hold the thermostat in the hot water. If the thermostat is bad it will not open. Hope this helps.

My 97 BMW z3 is overheating and I have replaced the heater core hoses but it is still running hot

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. The most common issue to overheating is a stuck thermostat or a bad one. Next, would be the water pump. You could need a new coolant cap, which only cost a few bucks. You want to make sure that your fans are kicking on correctly. If they are not, check the fuses. If the fuses are good, you may have a bad fan or a bad wire. Make sure there is no coolant leaking. Sometimes, coolant can leak into the oil and is not easily visible to the eye. You may want to check your radiator also. It is possible that you have a bad coolant sensor as well. If your check engine light is on, you should take it to Autozone or Advanced and have it scanned. They do this for free and it might lead to what is causing your car to overheat. I hope this helps you.

1996 Acura 3.2TL Overheating Problem...

From your description of symtoms it sounds like you have a bad water pump. If the coolant is not circulating properly you will have a heating problem. Sometimes even a new thermostat can stick and cause the engine to overheat. I have seen them fail in as little as a week after they were installed.

1998 BMW F650 won't start after battery change

Hi, Rkmurry and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.
