The big nut spins counter clock wise. you have to put your pulley bolts back on and make sure they are tight. leave belt on so that you have more resistance to pull against when tring to loosen the nut put a bar inbetween the pulley bolts so it won't slip off and then loosen that big nut looking thing and you should have it from there. to the same thing in reverse order to install it

Without an impact, it's will be more difficult. The only way to get back-up on the bolt is to remove the screen over the flywheel on top and put a socket on the flywheel nut

SOURCE: pulled cover off and cultch

Well, let's try adjusting the cable. Find the clutch cable adjuster in the middle of the cable. Break the locknut loose and turn the adjuster inwards to get all the slack you an in the cable.

Now at the primary cover, remove the clutch release mechanism cover. Take the spring and the lock nut out of the cover. Now, turn the screwdriver slotted acrew counterclockwise until it stops. Then turn it clockwise 1/4 turn. Replace the lock nut, spring, and the cover on the primary.

Go back to the cable adjuster and adjust it outward until you have about an 1/8" freeplay at the lever.

Good Luck

How to change drive belt 2001 harley davidson fatboy

To change the final drive belt on your Fatboy, first disconnect the battery. You have to drain the primary and remove the cover. Take the engine sprocket nut loose and remove the plate in the center of the clutch assembly. Remove the mainshaft nut that holds the clutch assembly on. This nut has LEFT HANDED THREADS. Then, remove the starter jackshaft. Go the right side of the bike and remove the exhaust system so that you can remove the starter. Then take the inner primary cover off. You may have to remove the front belt drive pulley. Since you're in this far, you may as well remove the pulley if you have the proper tools and replace all the transmission seals behind it. Then, remove the rear wheel and the swingarm. Do not bend the new final drive belt into a radius any tighter than about four inches or you may damage the cords inside the belt. You will need a torque wrench that is capable of applying at least 150 foot pounds of torque to the engine sprocket nut and torqe 60-80 pounds in the LEFT HANDED DIRECTION for the clutch assembly. The front belt drive pulley torques to 150-165 foot pounds as is also LEFT HANDED THREADS and you'll need a "belt pulley locking device" to hold it while you take the large nut off and put it back on. If you plan on doing this job, I would advise the purchase of a service manual as sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

Good Luck

1955 panhead FL. I need pictures of how to install a clutch. Bought bike already apart. this list did not list model its just a kick start pan bottom. I have all the parts.

Go to this site and you'll see a picture of an early Panhead-Shovelhead clutch. It will give you an idea of how it goes together The only difference is that your outer clutch shell will not have a starter ring gear on it. You can click on the little symbol at the lower part of the picture and get a larger view that you can print out. You can order a H-D service manual part #99482-69 and it will help a lot covering 1959 to 1969 models. H-D parts manual #99456-84B, 1941 - 1984 models.

Good Luck

My washer wont agitate or spin, how do I access the motor assembly to check the belt, clutch, pully ect..?

you just remove the bottom cover of the washing machine, then you can see the assembly of motor, belt and pully. check that among these parts are damaged, jammed or not. If everything is normal there is the possibility of damage to the electrical circuit. there is no power to the motor.

Fan and clutch assembly

It is regular threads. You need to use a strap wrench to hold the pulley. Or make one by using a old leather belt. Just wrap the belt around the pulley. Put one end through the belt loop in the opposite direction.
