Question about Motorcycles
Hey guys regarding my yamaha xj 600 seca. when i turn the key no light's or light signals come on.and i dont even get a kick over it's like its completly dead.it worked for about 2 or 3 rides. but then started making a clicking noise sort of like electricity crackling when i would try to start it.and then after that it just went dead to the point no lights at all come on even when ignition key is turned on.could somebody please help me???
You need new battery for sure. When you install the new battery, check it with a volt meter (D.C.) that it charges at 14V +/- 0.5V at idle with your high beam on. If it doesn't, you need a regulator/rectifier as well.

hello, i just purchased a after market cdi from, procom engineering inc. 66 maxwell irvine ca, 92618 usa. tel, 949-748-6338, or www. procomengineering.com, i purchased cdi for 350 warrior, this cdi advances timing, hotter spark, easier to start, i am very pleased with mine, it was 76.00 dollars, this is a aftermarket high performance cdi, beats paying 500.00 from yamaha shop, try it i believe you want be dissapointed, they have warranty with it. check it out, they ship pretty fast too, bubba

This is caused by air leaks between the carb and cylinder. Tighten the carb / intake clamps and mount screws. If that doesn't help, tighten the cylinder and head down and reset the valves. If that doesn't help, replace the rubber seals and rubber manifold components and the problem should disappear. If not, do a compression check. The exhaust valves may be burned and letting un-carbureted air into the cylinder thus leaning the fuel mix.

You must make sure that any other cdi unit is compatable with your make of bike .Best advice is to obtain the same as fitted on you bike ..check the unit model type rating and output .
