IT sounds like it is the pickups not working (.telling it to spark) if not then it will be CDI UNIT OR ENGINE GENERATOR COILS

SOURCE: Honda CB360 STARTER WON'T TURN???

You should have a wire that runs from the starter button to the solinoid and you have the big wire that runs from the battery to the starter solinoid. These two wires are not supposed to be touching. You may have fried the starter solinoid or the starter its' self.

Check the wire from the starter button all the way down to the solinoid. Be sure the wire has not melted and fused with other wires.

Google " motorcycle salvage honda " for parts.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

does the bike turn on .. like lights and all? does it role over but just wont fire? if lights and everything come on then it would be a tip over sensor. i had same prob, laid bike down going very slow... got it back up wouldnt start just rolled over if i rememeber right. turned the key of then back on and sensor had reset...... try disconnecting the battery for a few, then reconnect it and try it.

2007 volvo v50 key stuck in ignition vehicle totally shut down

It is best to call a locksmith, unless you know how to take apart the ignition tumbler and put the assemly locks in the correct order. It sounds like the key tumbler hold in broke and all the tumblers are loose and causing the key to be stuck. If you want to hurry the job for the locksmith and save money, buy the key tumbler assembly for your vehicle for the locksmith to install. Otherwise he will have to make the trip to buy the assembly, which in turn costs you more money. Mechanic shops can replace key tumblers too but when it is stuck in the column, it takes a lot of effort to remove if they are unskilled.

Key broke off in key switch on a 4 wheeler. What is envolved in changing this out? does it take special tools?

i had the same problem on my scooter. I used tweezers to pull the key out and then i took the bottom portion of the key to ACE hardware store. They didnt think they could remake the key but the guy i worked with was awesome. he cut the new key and it started my scooter. worked perfectly and it only cost $2.50 !!!

I too lost my key, took the key switch apart (easy) and removed the tumbler pins now a screw driver or any key will work but still looks like a key start

Key stuck in ignition

Hope this helps all.... If the key is stuck (won't come out) and the column is NOT locked, one the gear shift there is a plastic sleeve. Put the gear shift in park...slide your hand below the knob and pull that sleeve up! Presto!!! it locks in park and the key comes out. I just put all the stuff i took apart back together... the other solutions may work but this is the first step to check... no tools and you know right away...

I lost my keys to my 96 dodge dakota so i tried to forcefully use a screwdriver to start it resulting in a busted ignition i can get it to turn to the point of starting but the starter isnt turning over...

you will have to take the steering wheel off and the steering collum apart to find the rod that actuates the real ignition switch..the thing you stick your key in..is not really the ignition switch....its just a key tumbler..and it would be best that a professional replace the key tumbler..because it is difficult to drill out..i know this isnt what you wanted to hear..but i hope it helps

The ignition won't switch off.

what has happened is that the ignition switch where you put the key has a internal short and will not kill the power, there are two choices.... replace it of corse or you could try taking it apart and removing all the tumblers and twisting it, but by going that you will no longer need a key, i would replace it and in the mean time discount the neg. wire on the battery to keep it from going dead

Ignition switch

Whoa....first, the ignition swith is not a part of the tumbler. you went in to far. replace the switch and put the brass gear on the tumbler. slide the tumbler out and install the keeper. the tumbler needs to be in the "on" position..

96 cavileir key switch

chances are your only option is to replace the ignition switch it appears that one of the pins in the tumbler is jammed and chances of it working again is remote.
