Won't blow hot air, engine heats up at high speed

For a few months my Tahoe will not blow hot air, even after running car for a while. Then, yesterday I noticed that the engine was heating up at high speeds. When I slowed down or stopped, it would cool back down just under half-way on the gage.

If your radiator is full of water, then its probably the thermostat sticking. The thermostat is located on top of the engine, under the housing that the radiator hose goes to

Have you checked yoour heater core? I agree it is possible that your evap might have sprung a leak. Have you physically checked your A/C compressor to see if your cluth is coming on?

2007 Tahoe 5.3L blowing hot air at low speeds and running hotter than normal

I would look at the A/C condenser fan or the switch that triggers it and test for power/function. It sounds like the gas isn't condensing due to lack of air flow, until it gets enough at speed to exchange heat through the condenser and bring the temps down.

Heater blows won't get hot

Hi.

Technically, that's impossible. The heating system in your car gets its heat from the engine. If the engine is running, then it will generate heat and there's no stopping that. The only thing that would prevent the heat from getting into the air that's blowing into the car is if the air selector is set to "Recycle" instead of "Fresh".

So, look at the controls for the heater and be sure that the air selector is pulling air from the outside and into the car.

I hope this helps.

Chevy 2005 tahoe z71 blows cold air in back but hot air in front

Just got an answer from Chevy Dealer. When you replaced the battery it loses its memory as to where the door actuators were (the flaps that control the heat and A/C).

The fix:
Turn everything off and let the car sit overnight. The computer should reset itself during its learnings process.
In the morning turn on the ignition and let the car run for a few minutes before turning on the climate control.

If this doesn't work, plan on 1-1.5hours of labor for a technician to reset the actuators at the dealership.

Good luck.

Why would my heater blow out cool air when sitting still and then hot air when going down the road and then it's not all that hot

Try flushing or blowing high pressure air through the heater core lines. its sludge build up and need to be flushed through heater core only. check antifreeze fluid level. only put in straight antifreeze, do not mix. most people do not know what mixture should be, so be safe and add straight, it will not hurt it, i run 100% straight antifreeze and never had a problem or worry about it ever freezing and cracking my block, heads or radiator cracking.

2001 tahoe front heater not working, rear heater blows warm air

Notorious for plugged heater cores. Also updated plastic restriction couplers mounted at heater core available from dealer. Try back flushing heater core. Run engine till its at operating temperature then carefully hold the inlet and outlet hose breifly with heater fan on high if hoses are nearly the same temp then flow is good , if not then core is plugged.

2001 tahoe front heater not working, rear heater blows warm air

I have the same problem with my 2001 Tahoe. The front blower is working, its blowing strong, but its cold air even with the temp setting as high as it can get. The rear blows hot air. The engine temp guage is at about 210ish which is close to being normal (220). I just replaced the thermostate a few months ago, I don't know if its bad again, or it I deluted the antifreeze too much and it frooze the heater core, or if the heater core just went bad. Any one know what the cause could be?
