SOURCE: when i first take it out of the garage it wont

Sounds like a dirty, or plugged carburator. It need to be completely gone through. They also have an accelerator pump, so get it all cleaned up and inspected for wear.

SOURCE: 2003 VN800A idles rough and sputters

speaking of things clean how is the air filter dirtyy filters are the most common cause of rough idle on most engines because of the age of this machine I would also check the inlet manifolds they may be perrished & sucking air this can be checked by spraying wd40 onto the mannifolds while the motor is running if the engine speed increases you have found the cause of the problem of to the dealers for a set of new mannifold rubbers

SOURCE: bike sputters with no throtle when trying to

purchase a can of Seafoam from Autozone $10 and pour in 1/3 can to two gallons of gas. After you get the bike started ride it hard but dont go to fast be safe.. for about ten to fifteen miles..it might run a little rough the first couple of miles but then it should clear up..it took me 10 miles before my bike spite something out and be careful it spit it out when i was in a turn and zoom..ran like new and has been ever since. if you follow the instruction on the can they say to drain the main fuel line and pour straight into the fuel line, well i just filled the fuel filter instead and just rode off.
Can i get some feedback...thanks

1984. Why does it run fine during cold weather and sputter when it is warm and I punch the gas pedal?

could be low float level, low pump pressure/supply
blocked fuel filter
when cold the engine is running on choke setting which draws more fuel from the carby
when it is warm the choke is off and if you have a flat spot ( (sputter) , that indicates a lack of fuel or maybe a bad accelerator pump or power valve
if the carby is a holley then replace the power valve and overhaul the accelerator pump.

The PO 316 is still misfires om first 1000 revolutions
so the shop did a poor job for you on resolveing the
cylinder misfires

Try a diffferent shop

Have to clean the MAF Sensor & replace upstream
oxygen sensors if over 100,000 miles

Need the correct oem spark spark plugs/any brand

No reason the gas filter should be clogged unless it was in
the car for 10 years

Fuel pressure should be checked

Need to check for cylinder misfires on a road test of 20
miles or more with professional software in Mode#06

The engine sputters and dies when it heats up. Is this Vapor lock? On cold start it works great and idles just fine but as it heats, the engine starts choking and soon dies out. If this is vapor lock, how...

sounds like the reason it starts and idles fine at start up is your choke is functioning... as your vehicle warms up.. the choke starts to kick off... Inspect your throttle body and idle control motor.

Make sure you were given the right plugs for the car (correct heat range) also check the choke plate after the car warms up to ensure the choke plate is all the way open.

If the choke has an adjustment point, then adjust the choke to a good overall working powerband. If it still doesn't act correctly, look for vacuum leaks. If it is an option, you may want to install a manually operated choke lever.
