Question about 2009 Buell Ulysses XB12XT

1 Answer

My 2009 XB12XT is not charging the battery and the warning light stays on all the time, could this be a grounding issue?

Bike is running off the battery and only has 4000 miles on it.

It is more likely either a voltage regulator or an alternator issue.

Battery ok alt new battery light stays on

The light means the alternator is not charging the battery. Once the charging circuit is completed, the warning light looses its ground connection.
You may need to double check the circuit going from the alternator to the battery, or the warning light circuit going to the alternator as it could be shorted to ground.

Replaced the battery on my bike. Now I get no power at all. Connections have been double checked.

Ground or fusible link. If it is indeed a hot Battery put a test light on the negative side of the battery touch the positive side to see if it lights up. Move the ground down to the frame, touch the positive again to see if it lights up. if it does follow all the positive wires with the light, if doesn't light up hooked to the frame you have a bad ground.

Push button start not working in my 2009 nissan cube any suggestions

Sounds like the R/F transmitter in your key fob has malfunctioned. Get the dealer on the phone. They are probably the only ones who can help you.

Starting Issue

All indications are that the Battery is gone. Make sure that you are getting a reliable test...take battery to an auto store that gives free battery checks.
Once you verify that the battery is actually good ( which I very much doubt) you can check these other things:
1. that the GROUND wire at the battery has a good contact with the frame.
2. that the alternator is functioning...test at auto store is free.
3. that all electrical connection to the starter are good.
If you follow these instructions in order, you WILL find the issue. I've been there many times... Good Luck

2009 zuma 125 flashing check engine light?

Hi, Sadiesalcedo it should be noted that the reasons your EFI light stays on constantly or flashes and your bike will or will not start and may turn over or not, these conditions will vary from bike to bike depending on the year, make, and model and you should always refer to your owners/service manual for proper diagnostic procedures. It should also be noted that any type of prior work done to the bike or an abnormal event occurrence IE: adding accessories, electrical curiosity/adventures, laying bike down/crashes, rainstorms/bike washings just before EFI light issues started can be significant hints/aids into tracking down the gremlin, also carry the appropriate jumper wire to access fault codes to reduce the risk of being stranded or towed, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty Fuel Pump, fuse or system relay switch.
2. Battery starting to fail due to old age/damage, perform a load test.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Faulty switches/sensors: run/off, ignition, clutch lever, neutral, side stand, tip over, fuel, and or their connections.
5. Broken wire or worn insulation exposing wire to a ground situation especially inside wire harness at tight bends around fairing brackets, under dash panels, under fuel tanks over cylinder heads etc. Many harnesses are open on the ends that will allow water to enter and accumulate at v-bends.
Dielectric grease and contact cleaner are your best friends for wire/cable/harness connectors, look for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

Electrical power system service required.....ABS warning light, generator warning light, brake failure...car stalled and wont't restart

usually caused by failed generator. Fix the generator and other lights will also extinguish. The car should jump start, but will not stay running without a charged battery. Recommend removing the generator and take to parts store for testing. Would you like instructions for removing generator?
