    I cleaned it out n checked all o rings their all pretty tight, I realiZed I forgot to set the floater, would that cause it?

    You mean you forgot to adjust the float height inside the carbs? I don't think that this would necessarily cause that but if the leakage stopped then perhaps it would.

    Yea the leak stopped now and I forgot to adjust it with a ruler like te book says I figured that might be why it wasn't firing because before I put all that in and it leaked it started but was boggin out

Clean and tune the carburetors if they overflow. Renew any o-rings or rubber parts inside.Also check the fuel **** under the fuel tank for leakage.

replace the fuel
clean the carbs
change the oil
new plugs
clean air filter
check the valve clearances( if any are really wide a valve may be stuck open)
I assume you have already fitted a new battery

Did you forget to close the fuel switch or check your fuel pump switch wiring because it sound like it keep pumping when the engine is off

I have a 1998 susuki katana motorcycle that starts but then it will die out! i clean the carbs. dont know whats wrong with it?

There is a vaccum fuel valve, that shuts off the fuel when not running, if that line has a crack or leak it will not let fuel into the carb.
The only thing I can think of w/o more info

99 katana has gas going into the heads and is leaking gas. taking off the pipes, draining gas.clearing it out of heads also. ???

I had a similar problem. Take off the carbs and take off the bowls. (do one at a time to keep parts seperate.) the float needles seal into a brass seat. The brass seat has an o-ring that seals it to the carb body. If the o-ring has any play at all or if it is not very tight, it will allow fuel to keep running into the engine. I got new o-rings at an auto parts store for under 5 dollars and have not had any trouble since. Also the stock fuel petcock valve is pretty crappy. I would reccomend replacing it with a Pingle one that does not work off of engine vacuum.

1995 750 Katana will not stay running

did you try the fuel petcock on the bottom of the tank? If not, pull it out and check the fuel filter on the top of it. If it won't start because of no fuel, that maybe the problem or it could just be a vaccum leak. Check the tubes for leaks or just replace them, they are cheap. If it isn't starting because it floods out from to much fuel, then it might just need a new petcock. How did the diaphrams on the top end of the carb look?

Gas in oil

If you have gas in your oil, you either have piston rings that are leaking through or valves that are leaking.
