Dome light was left on. battery was dead. jumped it off. engine quit while turning into a driveway. tried to restart but wouldn't. removed head and found two bent valves. took to machine shop and had fixed. put everything back together and car will start and idle, but put it in gear or touch the gas pedal and it'll die. any solutions?
Thanks.
1. Had mechanic check timing again. Belt off a couple degrees. Should fix problem.
2. Don't know. this is my son-in-laws car.
3. No.
4. I think valves were bent due to timing belt breaking and son-in-law trying to start car when it went dead.
5. Will do this if timing belt reset don't work.
Thanks for your reply.

Usually answered in minutes!
1. have you checked the timing? even though shop worked on it, doesn't mean the fixed everything right
2. can you goose engine while idling or does it stall then too?
3. have you had engine problems previous to this?
4. how did you bend the valves? usually this means that timing was wrong before.
5. look up difference between interference engine and non-intereference engine
when a car stops running, it normally isn't spark issues. or air issues. Its normally fuel or combustion issues, which relate to timing more than spark b/c if engine runs than spark is good enough to run strong or weak. a weak spark will make engine not AS strong, but wont make car die.
please answer the above qs and i'll help more
