SOURCE: my '86 suzuki savage won't rev up it just back fires

When I had my savage it backfired all the time. They are known for this. Make sure you fuel is not to lean. Just adjust the fuel. You should adjust that and put some sea foam in it or ethenol treatment since most of the gas is terrible these days. Running 91 octane will help. Also you will want to replace the muffler gasket too.
When you replace that it will smoke which is normal.
I sold mine but I know the bike pretty well from tearing it apart due to trying to fix it from not running properly. Let me know if you have any more issues.

On my 2002 Heritage Softail, my horn and blinker lights don't work. I had a problem with my ignition switch first. It wouldn't light to start the engine.

Hi Anonymous, start with the basics, check the connector pins to your Turn Signal Module for being corroded, broken or loose. Do the same for your horn starting with continuity at the horn button to a disconnected wire at the horn. For a free wiring diagram please visit the website below and good luck.

97 Suzuki LS 650 Savage won't turn over. Battery is charged to 12 volts, and I replaced the fuses, but still nothing. When I push the starter button nothing happens. No clicks, no lights dimming.

if you can arc and get it to work
what are the battery terminals like... clean and tight
check continuity for the earth chassis to battery neg - terminal wire
also the wire voltage to the starter from pos battery
if that checks out
bench test starter
solenoid not kicking out properly or problem with lazy starter motor

Blinkers working intermittently on pontiac 2004 grand am

I believe this is still an old fashioned bi-metal flasher system.the flasher has two metal strips bonded together that expand and contract at different rates, causing the strip to bend. This causes the strip to bend, turning the circuit off. When the strip cools, the strip straightens out and turns the circuit on(this happens repeatedly to flash the bulbs).Because cool tempuratures make it work better,I think the flasher is bad.

I have a 1995 suzuki savage ,, the person who had the bike before me removed the back blinkers to convert bike into a bobber ,, i put back blinkers back in place and wired them properly and they work fine...

check all the bulbs, make sure they have the same back. if the backs are slighty different or alot different they will send power back to relay in the wrong way, causing the problems u are talking about. if they are the same, u have a power wire grounding out from the rear signals.

Engine will not turn over. Everything else(lights,horn,etc.works).Power to on/off and start switch, but none to the starter. What is the next troubleshooting step? Bike is 2000 Suzuki Savage. Thanks

I can suggest a few things. There may be a fuse or fusable link between the start switch & starter. Also there may be a safety swith that is not working properly like: bike in gear, kick stand down. hope this helps.

The hand grops ground to the handle bar just make sure you get the paint off the bars where they mount and connect the wire to the positive on the turn signal wire. as for rear turn signals you have to have them for your bike to be legal. I suggest getting an led integrated tail light.
