It's a sensor that from a certain lean angle of the bike and beyond, it shuts the bike off by turning off the fuel pump and the ignition. For protection if the bike falls down.

CRANK SHAFT SENSOR

To remove the sensor:
  • Disconnect the wiring harness.
  • Unbolt the sensor mounting bolt.
If the crankshaft timing sensor or the camshaft reference sensor is removed, follow this procedure when the sensor is replaced:
  • Thoroughly clean the sensor tip and install a new spacer on the sensor tip. New sensors should be supplied with the spacer installed.

I needto know how to replace a Crankshaft postion sensor A circuit

      • The sensor is mounted in a fixed position in the engine block. The tip of the sensor protrudes into the crankcase at a distance of 0.05 plus or minus 0.02 inch from the crankshaft.
      • A crankshaft adjusting tool may be used to check these rings
place the tool on the pulley extension surface and rotate the tool around the pulley.
    • If any blade touches the tool, replace the pulley.
  • Inspect the trigger wheel behind the crankshaft pulley and the sensor for damage.
  • If the engine misfires all the time or on acceleration only, test the following components:
    • Engine compression.
    • Spark plugs.
    • Spark plug wires.
    • Ignition coils test for firing voltage with a test spark plug.
    • Crankshaft sensor.
    • Fuel injectors on multiport and sequential fuel injection systems. To remove the crank sensor

Where is the O2 sensor located on the 2003 V6 All Wheel Santa Fe and how dificult is it to replace?

Hyundai Santa Fe 2001-05
Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S): The sensors are located in the exhaust system. On some vehicles, one sensor is located up at the exhaust manifold(s) and the other sensor is located down at the catalytic converter. On other vehicles, both sensors are located down at the catalytic converter.

d2217fa.jpg

How to Replace an Oxygen Sensor
Parts:
1. Oxygen Sensor
2. Oxygen Sensor

Tools:
1. 3/8 in. Drive Ratchet
2. Multimeter
3. Oxygen Sensor Socket
4. Combination Wrench Set
5. Crimp Tool
6. Socket Set
7. Scan Tool

Steps:
Step 1 * Park the vehicle on a level surface. Set the parking brake and open the hood.
o Tip: Safety Tip:Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or safety shoes.
o Tip: Always make sure the struts on the hood can fully support the weight of the hood so that it does not close on you while working. The use of a hood prop can securely hold it in place.

Step 2 * With the engine off and cool, locate the defective oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold or pipe. If necessary, lift the front of the vehicle and support it with jack stands.
o Tip: Most vehicles have multiple oxygen sensors. How many sensors, depends on the model year and type of engine.

Step 3 * Disconnect the wire connector at the defective oxygen sensor.

Step 4 * Remove the oxygen sensor from the exhaust system.

Step 5 * If you are installing a universal oxygen sensor, cut off the connector from the original sensor and splice the connector wires to the new oxygen sensor. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions supplied with the sensor.

Step 6 * For threaded oxygen sensors, apply anti-seize compound to the threads and install the new sensor.

Step 7 * For flange mounted oxygen sensors, install a new gasket and tighten the mounting bolts.

Step 8 * Reattach the wire connector from the sensor.

Step 9 * If necessary, connect the OBD I/II scanner and erase the fault code.

Hope help with this (remember rated and commented this help) Good luck.

Error code c23 on dash. Bike starts runs for about a minute then shuts off.

You have a bad "Tip Over Sensor", or the connector to it is loose.
Here's a clip from the error code manual:

c23 = Tip Over Sensor

The sensor voltage should be less than the following for more than 2 seconds after ignition switch turns ON.
(0.25 < sensor voltage < 4.85 V)
Without the above value, C23 is indicated
Troubleshoot: Tip Over Sensor, wiring/coupler connection

A repair manual for your bike will show the location and test parameters for the sensor.

I hope this helps!

I have a 1992 wrangler. The check engine light is on. I think it is the Oxygen sensor. what should the OHMS be when checking with a digital meter?

The o2 sensor is tested by measuring its Voltage output.
Bench test; The tip of the sensor needs to be heated to about 600 degrees, so you'll need a propane torch. It's best to place the sensor in a vise for safety. Place the Positive lead of the digital meter on the black wire. Place the Negative lead on the body of the sensor. Select low DC voltage on your meter(2 volt scale). The sensor will display about 1 volt within one minute when heated, and it should drop rather rapidly to 0 volts within 3 seconds when the tip cools a bit. If the sensor is bad, it will not read approximately 1 volt when the tip is heated (the tip will actually glow red when it's heated to correct temp). Also, if the voltage does not drop rather rapidly when the heat is removed, the sensor is bad.
In the car test is a bit more involved.
If these links work, it will show how to test in the car.
