Obviously your no2&3 cylinders are dead.Take a new spark plug and stick it in the no2 plug cap.Touch the spark plug's tread to a bolt or nut on the engine and crank it.If you don't see spark on the spark's nose (which you most likely will), repeat procedure to no3 cylinder's spark plug cap. Both plugs are part of No 2 coil. The No1 coil feeds cylinders #1 & #4 cylinders.Find or borrow another pair, mostly all suzukis from that era, uses the same coils. If you see spark with the replacement, just means your one ignition coil is bad and you buy new oneIf you still don't see spark with the replacement coil, then the problem lies to your ECU.

1991 gmc 5.7 liter motor exhaust manifold gets hot

Were there any repairs preformed prior to this converter issue? Why did you replace the converter? When you removed the converter, what was the condition inside? How does the engine start, run, and idle (both cold and at normal running temperature). Is the engine light on? I would be interested in running a compression test (wet and dry, possibly a bad exhaust valve), inspect the spark plugs (how do they look), is there an active engine misfire?, Look at the timing (possibly related to incorrect air/fuel ratio), Look at fuel line pressure (possible leaking fuel pressure regulator or related seal at TBI), and spray pattern of both injectors. Running these tests and inspecting these parts will help narrow down your search. It sounds like unburned gas is burning inside the passenger side exhaust.

My xs650 one side of the exhaust is hot while the other side is cold

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a "LOAD" test, your battery may show 12.5 volts but has little or zero amps and must be replaced.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting, leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or CDI or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

York 95% furnace keeps shutting down when temps drop to -20+ at night . it appears to be freezing up the exhaust pipe and the pressure switches wont close on startup. it has a concentric vet, 2".

We don't get that cold here so that is a interesting ?? I would assume at those temperature that the furnace would be running almost all of the time and would condernse alot of water... It the drain system on the furnace is getting blocked up it will cause the pressure switch to not close. I would check all of the traps and hoses to make sure they are open.....and draining, You could put armaflex Insulation on the 2" flue pipe to help keep it from getting so cold.... Is it freezing on the exhaust or the intake hub? You can take the inlet pipe off at the furnace and use the inside air instead of outside air when you are running the furnace at -20 outside temperatures.... but keep the exhaust pipe hooked up to the furnace and keep venting it outside... Then I would hook the intake back up when the outside tempertures got warmer......I don't know if this helps but its what I would try...

What the sytoms of a clogged catalic converter?

Classic symptoms of a plugged catalytic converter. You may also have a check engine light, with these codes:

P0160 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0161 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0162 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 3)
P0163 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 3)
P0164 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 3)
P0165 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 3)
P0166 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 3)
P0167 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 3)

or simply:

P1484 Catalytic Converter Overheat Detected A catalyst overheat condition has been detected by the catalyst temperature sensor

With the symptoms you are describing though, 99% sure that will be it.

Many times a "clogged" catalytic converter is actually a broken one. Inside the unit, there is a honeycomb-like structure that aids the converter in superheating the exhaust fumes, which cuts down significantly on emissions. Over time, this honeycomb structure can get brittle and crack or chunk off inside the unit, which will impede the flow of exhaust. For this reason, many times a clogged or broken catalytic converter will rattle or make vibrating noises when the engine is given gas.

I have been working on a 1987 F-150 6 cyl.FI and it wont run above 1000 rpms, and it runs rough, like a convertor is plugged and exaust cant escape....except that convertor is long gone, and I cut the pipes...

I have heard of double wall exhaust pipe that will form a bubble on the inside of the tube not visible from the outside. I would disconnect the exhaust pipe from the manifold and check for obstruction. It does sound like an exhaust restriction to me too.

Miss fires catholitic converyor gloss red

Your cat is plugged, its not letting your exhaust leave the engine thus causing all these problems. You need to get it changed as soon as possible. You can get a shop to put in a universal one they are usually very cheep but do it soon. They can get hot enough to start a fire as you have already seen.
