On this schematichttp://www.bikebandit.com/2006-triumph-speed-master/o/m17654#sch569237
on the number 3 part is your rear brake master cylinder mounted on the 2 vertical lined holes under the number 3.The pedal shown herehttp://www.bikebandit.com/2006-triumph-speed-master/o/m17654#sch569268
is mounted with the number 20 bolt which you remove. When you have the pedal, attached on the rear brake master cylinder, apart from the bike, remove the number 12 clip to detach it from the break cylinder and you're done.

SOURCE: the engine back fires on the right side

Triumphs have a habbit of the ignition coils failing past a certian age. Switch the coils around and see if the backfires transfer with coil.

SOURCE: 08 Triumph Speedmaster won't start

Yes your battery needs charging. Lift the seat and take the side covers off and you willl see the battery. Charge away, you can bump start it. Turn it on engage second gear pull in the clutch run with the bike or have someone push you, drop the clutch when u are going as fast as you can and at the same time drop all your weight on the seat so the back wheel doesnt lock. Good luck!!

My 2003 triumph speedmaster back fires only going down hills

Hi, James if your carburetor or exhaust is:
COUGHING is usually caused by an air leak in the intake system and will generally have the same telltale signs, a wet or damp build up of oil/gas seepage at the intake manifold to cylinder head or carburetor to intake manifold connection and in rare instances a worn throttle plate shaft and or seals.
POPPING on deceleration is usually caused by a lean fuel condition or an air leak in the exhaust system and is generally located where black carbon soot is seen as a flashing build up from any joint connection. This condition can easily be remedied by removing and cleaning both joint pieces and reassembling with high temp silicone and torquing the exhaust clamp to the proper spec.
SPITTING is usually caused by a faulty accelerator pump and or nozzle, or the float bowl needle and seat leaking and overflowing through the main jet mixing well nozzle, or the air-fuel mixture screw is adjusted too lean.
BACKFIRING is usually caused by a sticky/tight intake valve or a timing issue, 180 degrees out or cam chain off 1or 2 teeth.

Turn signal issue on 2005 triumph speedmaster

Sounds like you should check and clean the contacts on bulb holder and bend them just a little to insure that they are making good contact with both parts of the bulb. Before replacing bulb turn on indicator and put a d. c. voltmeter on both contacts of bulb holder.12 volts should be measured intermittently. If not then suspect a broken wire or connection further back.

I am fitting a set of BUB after market exhausts to my 2006 Triumph Speedmaster and want to know what (if any) adjustments I need to make to the carbs and where the adjusters are located

Usually an adjustment by itself will not do the job, the sise of the main jets must be increased. Normally 2 sizes larger is a good place to start. Install the jets, ride the bike, look at the spark plugs, white plugs is too lean the jet needs to be bigger, black sooty plug too rich jet is too big, medium to dark brown plugs is good mix. Pay attention to how the bike runs, this is more important than plug color, if it revs up good and runs good it is alright, too lean will make the pipes turn red( glowing red) right at the junction with the head, do not ride with a too lean condition it will overheat the engine, and can burn the pistons.
