Please give full model description of your CBR (year, model)If it is fuel injected, the fuel pump is activated through a relay. Is that relay working ok?

    2002 cbr 600 f4i. how do i test the relay's

    Remove the rear cowl.
On your right hand side, above the passenger's footpegs, there are 2 relays.
The one further back, is the fuel cut relay.
    It has a Brown/Black stripe, 2 Black/White stripe and a Brown wire.
In front of your dash/clusters there is a relay with Black/Red stripe, Blue, White and Green wires. That is your headlight relay.
Just to see if it the relay's fault, use your headlight's relay to replace the fuel cut relay. If your pump work then it's the relay and you buy another one used n eBay. The headlights and the fuel pump's are same type relays.

Take a 12V tester (with the bulb), ground it and stick it's nose to the Brown/Black stripe wire of the fuel's cut relay (with the relay pluged on the harness). Then switch on the key with your kill switch (right hand handlebar switch) to RUN position. The bulb on the tester should come on for 3 seconds. Does it?

Hi, Keyth the following is a systematic procedure for diagnosing fuel pump issues designed to keep "DRACHMA" to a minimum. If you need parts check with Amazon and eBay first to keep costs down.
1. If your pump does not turn on check the pump fuse and relay and all wiring including connectors for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.
1. Normal fuel pump pressure is 3-5 PSI.
2. Check any rubber or plastic tubing for age-related pinholes by removing and plugging the ends that connect to the fuel valve and then turn on the ignition switch and watch for fuel streams exiting the pinholes, if any exist, replace tubing as necessary.
3. Check for a clogged a primary fuel filter that comes off the bottom of the pump to screen out big rocks and clean as necessary.
4. Check for a clogged secondary fuel filter that's outside if applicable by removing it from the system and replace it with a short splicing tube turn on the ignition switch and recheck fuel pressure if pressure increases to normal pressure you need a new secondary filter.
5. If all the above check out OK and the pump is not functioning properly then you need a new fuel pump.

My 99 cbr 600 ran out of gas how do i prime the pump?

Turn the bike off with the kill switch. Turn the key and listen for the pump to prime.
If it doesn't.
Check all fuses.
Check your fuel pump relay fuse - try taking it out and putting it back in.
Check you main fuse next to the battery (30A).
If you replaced any fairings or did any modifications to the bike, make sure you didn't mess up the BAS\Roll over sensor as the bike may think its on its side and will not pump fuel.
Check all wires in the wiring harness make sure there is no corrosion and the fuel pump relay is getting power.

Hi i have a problem with my honda blackbird 2003 feul injection, i have already checked the following, went over the harness , starter, plugs, kill switch, sidestand. when i switch the bike on, sometimes...

That sounds like either a faulty pump or pressure switch inside the pump housing. Unfortunately they are in the fuel tank.
Check by substitution if power is on the wires going to the pump. Don't forget to check the return wire!

2007 honda cbr 1000rr no power to fuel pump

then it has to be one of two things only....a blown fuse or a broken wiring.
or if you dumped the bike you might have tripped the bank/tilt sensor.
i believe to reset it turn key on and cycle kill switch the turn key off then try to start..im not to sure as hoe to reset it but you could always try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes that might reset it.

2005 cbr 1000rr won't fire, just turns and turns, installed new battery, just bled and fixed my clutch line, HESS light does go out, help me out please

check fuel pump fuse if that's o.k. turn key on and feel the pump or listen to see if its priming. if the pump is doing its job then you have a spark issue...pull out one of your plugs and hang it so it touches a bolt or part of the frame and see when you start it that it has a nice big blue spark.if this doesn't work then check the kill switch circuitry.. the tilt switch could have been tripped when fixing you clutch line. i heard that you can reset it by cycling the kill switch, turn key on cycle switch, then try again. The tilt sensor im not sure exactly but may be located between your headlites or under the front fairing. The tilt switch kills power to the injector banks. Hope this info helps.

My 2007 cbr 1000rr wont start it just winds over

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, check would be to determine if the fuel pump is priming.

Offhand, if the fuel pump is not working at ignition ON, possibilities are:
  • wiring, fuse, connector (least likely);
  • fuel pump, fuel relay (likely); or
  • bank angle sensor (most likely).

On the other hand, if the pump is working, then check for the absence / presence of spark at the plugs.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Bike shuts off after downshifting to 1st or 2nd.

The bike wont start for a little bit ????????????
What do you mean.Either it starts or it doesn't.
First of all check the fuel pump.Place the kill switch to "off" position and turn on the key.Put your left hand on the pump (it is under the seat and close to the fuel tank I think.Looks like a drum with 2 pipes on one side and wire on the other end) and then press the kill switch to "on" position. The pump should start pumping for a few sec and then it will stop.
What exactly is a "spudder" that you heard from the exhaust? Like an explosion with a flame (backfire)?
When you crank the engine does it feel like having combustion or it turns like there are no pistons inside?
