SOURCE: i have replaced fork seals

Hi,
I am assuming the old oil is drained.
Once the tops are opened, lift the bike onto the center stand which will make the forks extend. Refill through the top of the fork with 12 oz of fork oil. The manual states that you must use oil with a weight of approximately SAE 3, and the amount going in needs to be equal in each fork.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Ohlins spring Inserts, Front Forks - BMW F800GS

you are right in the removal and replacement of the springs, my tip so you dont have to change the oil is when you are removing the springs nip your fingers on 1 section of the spring and turn the spring in your fingers like you are unscrewing a bolt.any oil loss will be neglible. oil is 270mls per leg if you want to change it.

GPZ-1100 1995. Changing oil in engine and fork. How much fork oil to use? And what oil is better to use in engine? Thank you.

level of fork oil is more important than the amount...it should be 120mm from the fork top when fully compressed without the springs.
But if you want an amount then you're looking at 470cc although this will depend on wether the fork internals were stripped and dry before refilling. That's why using level is a better guide.

Engine oil for the 11 is 10w40
