While exilerating the trans shifts thru the gears fine but when you let up the gas it go into a free wheel and make a winning noise, if I put it into neutral and give it some gas and shift it back todrive it goes back into gear, until I let up the gas and it repeats the free wheel.

Trans sticks in 2nd gear

"...he had to put hi foot on the gas pedal several times..." I do not understand what this means, but does it still fine? If it is then you likely had a stuck shift valve, but why is the valve stuck? Is the valve body contaminated as a result of the trans "coming apart". If it is still not shifting out of second gear then you may have a 3-4 clutch problem, which is a very common failure and requires overhaul to correct it.

I just replaced the clutch on my 5 spd manual trans it now makes noise in the first three gears and goes away in 4th & 5th the trans shifts fine it also seems to be losing fluid but we can't find out...

Common sense here

The clutch is not the issue,if the R&R was done correctly

You have a trans or transaxle problem (internal)

You also have a possible leak

Having owned a trans repair shop in the past,
I suggest you remove the trans, strip it clean, all the
way.

Then diagnose the shifting isssue in 1 thru 3 and the
area of the leak, as you reassemble it, verses all the worry and quessing
of what if's

My 2002 Mercury Sable will not shift into gear, will shift out of park, but will not go into any gear.

How many miles and how does your transmission fluid look?

Get car ot normal oper. temps and put on level ground. Put trans thru all gears with foot on brake. Put into park, leave running and check level. If level is low, this could be part or all of your problem. If level is fine and trans fluid is not brown or burnt, you have an electronic problem.

If fluid checks ok, let me know if you have a Check engine light on, ABS light, etc.

Hope that helps.

Grinding in and out of 4 wheel drive

You say 'new' truck, 09? or new used? I have had 3 Fords, 3 w/ manual trans. case, if you go into 4x4 Low range, you must come to a complete stop before shifting the trans. case to 4x4 mode, and I always put trans (automatic) in neutral before slipping into 4x4, it engages smoothly, no grinding. 4x4 high range can be put in while moving, but I would let off the gas pedal, shift to 4x4 high range, then resume accelerating. If there is any grinding going on doing it as above, something isn't right. Check the trans. case fluid level also, to make sure that's not an issue.
