HINT: The "torque pattern" on ALL cylinder heads is start in the center and work your way toward the ends. The specifications below are "torque-to yield" or "torque angle" specs. When in doubt, about 65 Ft. Lbs. will work on pretty much ANY aluminum head. The main point is to get them EVEN to prevent warpage.

2001 f150 5.4 4x4 front wheel bearing torque specs

If you have it apart, you should know already. If not, and you're doing this right, it should have four bolts, correct? I wouldn't worry about torquing them to anything specific, I'd tighten them snugly, then maybe 1/8 to 1/4 turn more in a criss-cross pattern. should be fine, they're not head bolts or lug nuts, so torque specs aren't necessary, but if you REALLY need the torque spec, I'd suggest going into an f-150 forum, sounds like a logical thing to do.

I need to know the torque specs for the head gasket for a 99 2.2 pontiac sunfire

Install cylinder head bolts finger-tight. New cylinder head bolts are recommended due to stretch of the old bolts.
Tighten bolts in sequence, tighten the long bolts to 46 ft. lbs. (63 Nm) plue 90 degrees. Tighten the short bolts to 43 ft. lbs. (58 Nm)

Install pushrode and rocker arms and rocker arm nuts. Tighten nuts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).

Install valve cover and tighten bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

I blew the head gasket on my 2002 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 L OHV. I am needing to know the torque specs so that I can have the gasket replaced tomorrow! A picture would be wonderful! Uncle is going to fix it but...

When torquing items today very little is done with just "numbers" in the process. Now you have to have an angle meter to complete the process so when you see me say to torque a specific number "plus so many degrees", this is how it's done. This is the meter:df03f54.gif Now, Here are the specs for installing the head:
Cylinder Head Bolt
  • First Pass
30 N·m
22 lb ft
  • Final Pass
155 degrees

Here is the sequence shown in picture form:
e8f4606.gif Also, you will need to discard the old bolts because they are "torque to yeild" bolts and CANNOT be reused. The reason: "Torque to yeild" bolts actually stretch during the torque process and once they've gone through this process they can't be reused because they no longer are able to "clamp" the head because they are too long. Hope this helps your repair project.
