Removal
how do i remove the brake caliper on a 1994 f350 - stj~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif"/uploads/images/stj~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif" alt="stj~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif" class="h_mi" /> CAUTION: Always replace all brake shoes and linings on an axle. Never replace only one wheel.
Remove the disc brake caliper from the front disc brake rotor. If the disc brake caliper is to be removed for service, remove the front brake hose from the disc brake caliper. Plug the end of the front brake hose to prevent fluid loss and entry of air into the system. If the disc brake caliper is not to be removed, wire it up to the frame of the vehicle to avoid damage to the front brake hose.
Install new inner and outer lining.
Position caliper pin with the pin retention tabs oriented adjacent to the spindle groove.
If you look in between the caliper and the caliper bracket you will see a metal sleeve with a rubber bushing that sits in the slots on the top and bottom of the caliper. Use a punch and hammer to pound those sleeves out from in between the caliper and bracket. You will then be able to remove the caliper.
