What would cause my 91 s10 to flood out? - 1991 Chevrolet S-10

It could be the throttle body itself that is worn out. There is something called the throttle positioning sensor that regulates how much gas is dumped into the motor for six cylinders to run on either at idle or going down the road. I had the same issue with my 90 blazer that died on me on the road and would not start because it was flooded.

First check the fuel pressure while it is running. A bad regulator could cause too much pressure 65+PSI FLOODING THE ENGINE.

not really. IT is under the dash on the passenger side. You should put some plastic down or pull the carpet or it will get soaked with anti freeze

TRUCK SHUTS OFF AT IDLE

check the egr valve it sound to me that its stuck open and if this happens excessive exaust gases are flooding the intake or you might have a vacuum leak either one of these problems will make a high pitch sound
