Hi key son...

Make sure you are getting spark at the spark plug, to do this:
Remove your spark plug and check to be sure you are getting a bright blue spark at the spark plug.
You do this by grounding the plug on the head of the engine and pulling the crank rope...watching the plug for spark.
If you are getting a nice blue spark then skip A below and go to B.
A...If you do not get a nice blue spark then you may need to replace the electronic module.
Note: If you have to replace the module be sure to measure the position it is in, it is critical to starting.
B...Also take some fine grit sandpaper (not emery) and lightly sand the flywheel where the magnet is located to clean any rust or corrosion from the magnet area.

PURCHASED BRAND NEW MS 311 SAW. HAVE SWITCH ON COLD START, HAVE PUSHED BLACK BUTTON IN ON TOP, AM PULLING THE CHORD LIKE THIRTY TIMES. CAN SMELL ALITTLE PETROL BUT IT WONT KICK OVER

Likely it is flooded. Try starting without choke. Move control lever into choke position, then back to start position. This sets a high idle throttle/no choke. Don't touch throttle or it will drop throttle position from high idle to idle. Set decompress and pull starter cord no more than 3x.

You may have to remove spark plug and pull start cord several times to get the excess fuel out of the cylinder and crankcase. Dry spark plug with compressed air or starter fluid. Reinstall spark plug. Pull starter cord no more than 3x. If it doesn't fire, remove plug and inspect tip. If completely dry, no fuel. If wet either no spark or it has flooded again, check for spark.

I an looking for a diagram how to change plugs on a 3.0 v6 24v alfa romeo 1999 model please

no need for a diagram
take a photo before you start doing the work

you may have to take of plastic covering to see all the plug leads

if the plugs are deep in the motor in plug tubes
you use the plug lead long part to clip onto the undone plug and pull it out

best do one plug at a time
pull of the plug lead / undo spark plug / fit new spark plug
replace lead
repeat till all plugs are changed

How do I change spark plugs?

what is the make and model? pretty easy on the mechanic scale, gently pull the plug boot, (one at a time),

**use compressed air to blow out the area before removing the spark plugs so noe dirt gets inside the cylinder during replacement**

fit the correct socket over the plug, gently loosen the plug and remove. check the new plug for correct gap, install new plug and tighten 1/4 turn past snug, replace plug boot, repeat for remaining plugs

How do I change my sparkplugs on 2008 Fit?

Hi Anonymous. If your Honda Fit is the DSi engine type with 8 ( eight ) spark plugs, the only thing you do is as you do the replacement with the outer four spark plugs by loosing the 10mm bolts holding the coils, pulling the coils upwards and by using the 16mm spark plug socket loose the spark plugs and by using a magnet just pull out the old ones and refit the new ones. It is the same procedure you have to do for the inner side other 4 (four ) spark plugs, you just have to make a slight room to have access and using a shorter extension bar for the 16mm socket. Good luck.

Broken pullcord . cord is missing how long should new cord be and how hard is it to replace

Just went through this pain today. Here's how I did it. Use allen wrench with T handle to remove the shroud over the carb controls and plug. Then remove about 10 screws and split the case. Use tool that comes with the unit to remove the nut holding the impeller. Behind the impeller, use torx head to get the other bolts to remove the motor. There are two other screws on the other side that hold the motor on. Drop the motor from the case carefully. It is still attached by wires to the throttle and kill switch. Note how the throttle linkage is connected because it will come apart for sure. On the one side of the housing you are looking at the plastic cord spool with the spring unit behind it. My chord simply pulled out of the spool. It was held on with a 10mm nut and start washer (not a good design). If the chord broke, remove the remnant from the take up spool. To rewind the new chord or replace the one that pulled free, you need to wind the spring to put tension on it. Make sure the take up spool engages with the spring tang otherwise it will turn free and not tense the sprint. Once engaged with the tang, the spool should set to the bottom to be level with the metal chord guide. Turn the spool clockwise 3-4 turns until you feel it tighten. With a 2nd pair of hands, hold the tension on the spool and tread in your chord. Route the chord through the take up reel into the hole on the side. Loosen the 10mm nut with the star washer and route the end of the chord through it. Tie a simple knot in the end to prevent it from pulling through. Tighten the 10mm nut which clamps on the chord. Now, slowly, let the spring tension take up the loose chord until fully retracted. Make sure the metal chord guide fits in the slot to channel the chord properly into the take up reel. Hold the spool down and give the chord a gentle test or two. The chord should retract easily and fully. Simple as pie!!! Reverse the disassembly and you are back in business.

How can I replace the spark plug for my toyota sienna 2006

Hi. Here's the procedure on how to change the spark plugs.

  • Step 1 Connect the spark plug socket to the socket extension.
  • Step 2 Open the hood and pull the spark plug wires off the top of the engine. You may need to wiggle them back and forth while pulling up on the plug wires in order to remove them.
  • Step 3 Lower the spark plug socket into the engine and push the socket over the top of the spark plug.
  • Step 4 Turn the spark plug counterclockwise with a socket wrench to loosen and remove it from your Sienna's engine.
  • Step 5 Pull the old spark plug out of the socket and insert a new spark plug into the socket with the electrodes facing out.
  • Step 6 Lower the spark plug into the engine and thread and tighten the spark plug.
  • Step 7 Slide the plug wire down into the plug well and push it over the top of the spark plug until it seals the plug. The wire should fit nice and snug over the spark plug.

Yard machine lawn mower won't start

    Several questions here...

    1. Is the oil serviced to the full mark?
The oil level sensor can cause a no spark condition because it grounds the ignition.
    2. Is there spark at the spark plug? You can remove the spark plug and test for spark but if the plug is internally grounded it will show spark when removed but if it is installed it can still be defective. (Spark Plugs are cheap replace it)
    3. Is the handle safety cable loose even when depressed? A bad safety cable or an improper cable adjustment can also cause a lack of spark.
    4. Do you note gas on the spark plug or is it very dry? If the spark plug is dry try adding a splash of gas into the cylinder via the spark plug hole and see if you get a temporary / momentary start. If you do then you have either a fuel supply or carb problem.
Make sure the fuel selector is in the ON position.
    5. If you suspect a fuel problem disconnect the tank feed line to the carb and see if there is fuel flow from the tank, No fuel flow no start.... then problem in the gas tank or supply line.

I will post this as a solution but will watch for any responses and continue to assist you if needed.

    Thanks for using FixYa.
