My bike has been standing in the garage for 3 months - not started. it will now start with choke fully out, but cuts out when choke put back in. Also whilst running, when trying to open the throttle this also makes the engine cut out instantly. have removed the carb and cleaned jets etc, replaced fuel with clean fuel but did not solve the problem.any ideas.?

Try some starting fluid at air filter and try if possible to apply choke on and off after starting. This may clear a varnish clog in carb. I need more info otherwise.
Hi could be your engine has partially seized through being standing for so long just put it in gear and bump it over a few times to turn the engine over and get things moveing again if this doesnt work check your starter and solenoid switch connections are ok good luck
no way to choke this fuel injected bike in theory....but by my experience try to start the bike with fully open throttle several times, take care do not flat the battery, if the bike has not much fuel do not try with the bike on the side stand so the fuel cannot reach the fuel pump inlet.
hi m8t it sounds like a couple of things 1 you my have mioster in the wireloom thats why your useing a hairdryer under the tank..2the timeing my be out or the tappits my be loose reset them...3 the choke my be jammed just make sure that the choke runs freely on the cabs....ps sorry for the spelling...if the wireloom has water damage dry it of and tap it up hope this helps you
Don't let your bike just sit there idling. The choke circuit is needed for initial start-up. If you leave the choke on, when it warms up a little, the choke circuit is putting to much fuel into the cylinders. The added fuel doesn't get fully ignited and just sits in the exhaust pipes. When you get on the throttle, the unburned fuel in the pipes gets ignited and explodes, causing the backfire. Use the choke to get the bike running. You should be able to start riding after less than a 1/2 minute. And during that time the oil is well circulated to lube all internal parts. As you're ridding, slowly turn the choke off in increments. As soon as the bike will idle on it's own, the choke should be off to prevent an over rich mixture and foul the plugs. Plus you're well into your ride and have saved a little on gas mileage.
mate you have the idle screw then there will be a mixture screw the mixture screw is the small screw on the carb unscrew it 1/4 of turns at time and see if it improves also you probz got water in the filter
You need to completely drain and refill the gas - the gas you have is stale and doesn't have enough power to run the bike.
The battery needs to be fully charged - not just jump started. It wouldn't hurt to do an oil and filter change as well as a air filter and plug change.
