There should be a fuseable link on the wires on the battery side for the solinoid they might be poped it sounds to me like your not getting power to the truck except the starter make shure all the wires are connected and check all the fuses

it sounds like it could be a ground wire rather than a hot wire. use an ohm meter and test battery to end of the ground wire and any other grounds to the battery .check battery to engine block for continuity.

The starter solinoid is on the top of starter. Short the two large terminals on it, if the starter turns then the solinoid is faulty. If not then the starter is faulty.

check for power to starter solinoid, if power to there. then it has to be a bad starter solinoid or starter. checker solinoid first. if bad you will not hear any clicks or anything.

Only starts occaisionally, power is to the solinoid, but the starter circuit doesn't energize. checked ignition and it seems to be oK

Connect an extra wire to the starter input of the starter motor. Connect a voltmeter to it and turn the ignition. If there's no voltage there or the voltage drops far below acceptable levels check the original wire. Alternatively use the new lead to start the engine.

You more than likely need a new starter selinoid. Also make sure your alternator is putting out enough charge,13.2V or higher. You may also have a problem with the red power cable to the starter especially at the starter hook up point. Hope this helps you. Good luck!

hi, i think you have put the MAIN HEAVY CABLE direct to the STARTER MOTOR on the SOLINOID. this will keep the starter motor running. take battery lead NEGATIVE CABLE OFF the BATTERY, and change the MAIN HEAVY CABLE from the SOLINOID terminal to the other MAIN terminal on the SOLINOID and NORMALLY it SHOULD go with a SLIGHTY (smaller cable this GO'S to the FUSEBOX rest of car POSITIVE FEED). the other small wire is the solinoid START WIRE. the solinoid has 2 circuits the first circuit is HEAVY BATTERY LEAD to 1 terminal on the solinoid. the other side of the solinoid HEAVY CABLE to STARTER MOTOR. this is only 1 side of the SOLINOID (THIS IS A VERY VERY HEAVY SWITCH). the other side of the SOLINOID is the START SIDE (REMOTE CONTACT) of the SOLINOID, by turning the IGNITION KEY to STARTER POSITION, this operates the SOLINOID. this makes contact to run the starter motor. once the connections are done REPLACE NAGATIVE BATTERY LEAD and start the car. gerry

I have changed the starter solinoid and now i dont

Make sure the starter relay is working properly. Check to see if you are getting power at the relay + cable. Then check to see if you are getting power from the relay to the starter, you may have to turn on the ignition or get someone to turn the switch over in start position. If you're getting power here, then your problem is elsewhere. Are you getting the car to start or just no electrical such as lights and etc?

Truck will not start. Solinoid clicks, but

your battery is dead, jump start it and go have it tested at a parts store, its free to do this. They would also be able to test your alternator and voltage regulator for you too.
