I need to raise the handle bar on diamondblack Odyssey DB78 mountain bike. It has a "cartridge system inside" stamped on the top post around the allen key. I loosened the alley key but couldn't raise the bars. Is there another way?

Simply web search for "raise the handle bar" and you get lots of resources.

A major limitation is the steerer tube length. No matter how many times you cut a steerer tube it won't get longer.

Getting Riser Bars or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best and least-invasive option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.

If you had purchased the bike at a reputable Bicycle Shop they would have fit the bike to you before you took it home.

Raise handlebars on mountain bicycle

This will depend on what sort of stem you have. Most mountain bikes these days use a clamping style stem that simply grips the steerer tube on the fork. Some will have limited adjustment in that they may have a stack of 2 or 3 spacers that you can place either over the stem or below the stem. This does not give much adjustment. On my wife's bike the stem is actually adjustable similair to this: MEC 110mm Adjustable Stem Mountain Equipment Co op
and might be a good option for this bike.

How do I higher the handlebar on my barracuda slalom bike pls?

Usually there is a bolt on the top of the gooseneck, loosen it (you might have to tap it to loosen it) then raise it up by moving the bars back and forth. but make sure you do not raise it above the safe limit, it is stamped on the handle bar stem. then retighten the bolt

How do you raise the handle bars on a mongoose scorch bike?

there should be an allen wrench bolt on top of the handle bar shaft. loosen that but not to much because you dont want the tightening nut to fall off. now put the front tire between your legs and try to wiggle the handle bars back and forth while pulling up if it does not move try loosening it a little more and take off the first bolt on the shaft and that should work. i hope this helped you

How to raise the handle bars? I have been able to loosen the screws, but that only allows the handle to turn freely from front the wheel, not to raise it.

CAREFUL!!!! Go to a professional bike shop and let them see if you have enough stem (about 21/2" to 3") in the top tube. Less than that and it can snap off and you can get seriously hurt. More than likely, if they can raise it, you would only pay a minumum charge (not like a car, probably $5-$10)
It will be more if they have to install a new stem, because it involves taking it apart and putting it back together. But, it will be worth it if you like the bike other than it is not comfortable now. Remember, it is not made to be a cruiser which let you sit upright and are comfortable, Supension bikes are for mountain biking and rough terrain, going downhill and climbing. And you usually ride a smaller frame than normal because of how you ride the bike, too big and you lose control. So, the bars are almost always flat and you lean forward. I hope I answered your question, I have been in business for almost 40 years and do know what I am talking about.

How do you hire the handle bars on a giant mountain bike

Hello. You will need an adjustable wrench. Then look at the center of the handlebars and you will see a bolt and a nut. Usually the nut is on the underside. Loosen the nut, raise the handle bars and retighten the nut. J.

How do I raise the handlebars?

you need a wrench big enough to go around the round nut like thing where the handle bars join the body of the bike. Undo this and pull the handle bars up or down. Make sure they are tight when doing it back up.

I need to raise the height of my handle bars.

I am not sure which question to answer, so I will try both.

raising the handlebars, loosen the stem bolt 4or 5 turns, (this is the bolt on on the top of the handlebar stem). Tap the stem bolt with a hammer, the bold should drop down and the handle bars should fall loose, adjust as needed, then tighten the stem bolt to set.
Please note, there is usually a limit line on the stem, do not raise bars above this level as iy will make the handle bars unsafe and could pull out or break off.

second question, Child seats ar very adaptable, an will fit most bikes. Be sure to use all the necessary hard ware and safety guards. for you and your passenger.
Try to get the seat set up as low as possible as the higher the seat the higher the center of gravity. It will have less effect on handling characteristics if you keep the seat low.

I hope this is of some help.
