First start of your bike.

When starting your bike for the first time in a day, always use kick-start rather than electric-start. The battery life of your bike will last longer.

motorcycle runs great never had any issues, but the battery was 4+ years old . One morning I tried to start it and the battery was very weak tried to start several times would not start , brought new yusa battery fully charged, replaced the battery bike will not start. checked all fuses and I can hear the fuel pump, every time I try to start it check engine light comes on but nothing happens. where should I start looking for problems.

I have had over 20 bikes over the last 44 years and never had a battery last longer than 4yrs. Im guessing the battery needed to be replaced anyway. Did you check to see if the switch on the kick stand safty was stuck? What is going on with the emergency kill switch, is it sticking? I would check the connections to the starter and the starter relay as well.

Fault with electric start on my Suzuki GSF 250 Bandit

Check that the clutch is in, kick stand up, and neutral light ablaze. Then try your start button. When you had it running and hit the button, the starter engaged at a slower speed then the bike engine was turning, which led to the stall. The stall means your starter works. If the starter works when the engine is running then it is wiring. Check your kick stand wiring along with the clutch wires which plug in on the handlle bar or where the clutch cable enters the engine.

Battery Tender - advice needed In winter time there's always some months where I can't ride. After a long winter I has some times been hard to start up some of my previous bikes. Before I got a vehicle with IE I could get it started with the kick starter or by pushing it. No more with my SC. To avoid this I was looking for a battery charger

and found this Battery Tender. http://batterytender.com Look likes the solution. Anyone know these? which model do I need? Also I saw this ad: Cigarette-Adapter http://www.amazon.com/Deltran-Batter...=pd_sim_auto_3 Does it mean I can charge through the 12 v cigarette socket? BatteryTender Jr. is all you should need.....they work great.....I plug mine in whenever the bike of scoot is not being used......batteries last a lot longer and good starts all the time,
