Tip & How-To about Motorcycles
One of the things i learned when doing my time as an apprentice motorcycle mechanic is never underestimate the old " slow" guy in the workshop.I learnt this tip from such a guy and from then on I listened and watched him carefully when i could. These tips are not special , just practical ,like the job itself.Less haste ,less waste. Patients and knowledge are whats needed and the "old slow guys"can do it quicker because they have these 2 qualities in bucket loads...Thanks..Rex ! Tip # 1. To quickly remove the the phillips head screws on your master cylinder when they are either rusted in or the heads are mashed or both, use a centre punch at a 45 degree angle towards the outer perimeter of the head of the screw.A few medium blows will loosen it off,THEN you can screw it out. replace with allen key head type screws or put a dab of waterproof grease on a new screw and hunker it down. This may seem a simple tip now but when your young and you think you could remove, strip down and re-install the engine on the space-shuttle all by yourself then this kind of simple " handy" tip is very humbling.
