Our Yamaxa XS1B's speedometer has been revised by an

I can't give you reliable instruction on opening it up. Have you thought about asking your Bologna speedometer man for suggestions? How about contacting Yamaha or the manufacturer of the speedometer if it is not Yamaha who makes it.? As i said, the best I can tell you is to be careful when you disassemble it. Any chance the speedometer could be replaced with a newer Yamaha speedometer that has a Km/h dial? Your original posting is still on FixYa. You might want to re-post to get the issue back on the front page. Just copy original posting then paste it into the new posting.

Water in Oil!

I would go for the water pump seal first, it is an easy fix. Pull the left case cover and there it is. You will of course have to take the water pump cover off and all the plumbing that goes with it. Be sure that when you put the new water pump seal in not to put any lubricant like oil or grease on it. This is a ceramic seal and oil or grease on it will ruin it. There is also a spring in there that keeps pressure on the seal so replace that as well. You will see what is there when you get it apart. Replace any corroded/rusted parts. Take a good look at the impeller and make sure it is 100% while you are in there. Sometimes these will break loose from the shaft. If you have any questions about it replace it. If after that you still have water in the oil it would be a head or base gasket I am thinking requiring an adult to intervene, a qualified Ducati mechanic.

Oil change frequancy

There are several schools of thought on this. Some say you should change your oil every 3000 miles; others say every 6000 miles is fine. In any case, you should change it every 3 months.

Ok i want to buy

don't buy the Chinese scooter!, they are not very well constructed and have many problem's, also parts are VERY VERY hard to get for them, I read about problems with these cheap scooters all the time, all kinds of mechanical and electrical problems, never or very rarely hear any bad issues with Japanese products. I have been a 2 wheel rider for 45 years, and I am a technician by trade.

Yamaha XT125X - I have just changed the fuel valve and put petrol in the tank. Now the engine won't start and the fuel light is on all of the time? Any ideas anyone please?

Make sure the fuel is getting to the valve and passing through it. Possible blockage in fuel line or in the tank.

2005 Yamaha v star 650 losing power

What Exactly does the bike do when it 'loses power'? This will give clues as to where the issue could be. When was the last time the bike was given a major service? Sometimes it can be as simple as a dirty fuel/air filter or an old/worn or dirty spark plug.
