If it's the alternator you can test it easily:
Once you get your car to start (if you need to jump it) leave it running. Have someone stand near the front and watch your headlights. Rev the engine a little, if your headlights get brighter then your alternator is fine. You can also test your alternator by, while the car is running, disconnect the negative cable from your battery. If your car does not die after that, then it is a different problem, maybe the relay, P.S. Turn off your car before reconnecting any cables.
Battery went dead now it runs like **** how do i
The battery going dead should not have anything to do with your ECU map! The ECU will not loose its map when you loose electrical power. You will however run badly if the bike is using more amperage to run than your stator is putting out or if the regulator is faulty and not allowing the proper current to operate the bike. If you had a battery go bad it is sometimes a sign that you are having a problem in the charging system. I would suggest you have the system checked.

When replacing any battery there are a few simple guidlines that will keep you safe.I assume that you know where the battery is located (most likely under the seat) and you are standing by of the side of the bike looking at it.1)Get a socket or wrench that fits on the terminal bolt snuggly. This is most likely going to be a 10 mm.2)Remove the NEGATIVE cable first.BLACK3) Remove the POSITIVE cable second RED4) Remove or undo the holddown strap.5) Remove battery and position the new battery into place.6) Pay careful attention to the terminal orientation.7) Secure battery 8) Attach positive cable RED to the battery 9) Then attach the negative cable BLACK. This order goes for all batteries in all modern vehicles.Good luck and good riding PS be sure the terminal bolts are tight
