2000 Triumph TT 600 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I changed my valve cover gasket on my 2000 Triumph
Look up on the coil. Maybe the producer put some numbers on the coils. If not, search for the ignition coils and if them are in line like cylinders. If so, that mean are a lot of chances that left cilynder is with the left coil, then the next cilynder is with the next coil and so on.Anyway, if you put the ignition coil in a wrong way you won't do anything bad to the bike. The only thing will happen is that the bike won't start or will start and run wery weird. In that case stop the bike and change the coils to another cilynder. If your bike will start and run bad that mean you have 2 cilynders working ( I doubt that a 4 cilynder engine could start in one cylinder ) and two of them not. You could find which ones are working by searching the heat on the exhaust manifold ( where the pipes are coming out of the engine ) but not touching them and the hot pipes are from working ones, so all you have to do is to change the coils from the cold cilynders between them. Hope it helped. Please reply.
Triumph tt600 engine light wont go out
You need to have the dealer perform a scan of the electronics and see what fault code is present. The light can be caused by many things, sensors are just one of them.
Layed my bike down it will not start now all
check your battery and all connections to the starter, sounds like it isn't engaging.
If you are lucky just a loose connection, next thing could be the battery, how hard did you lay it down? see if it is cracked or if it leaked
last resort is to pull the starter and check it out
hope this helps
Im getting a lot of
Sounds like a balance issue. Have you brake skidded that tire? If so then you may have a flat spot, inspect the tire closely, if it looks good take the wheel to your local dealer and have them balance it for you.
While you have the wheel off the bike check the wheel bearings, if you feel any looseness or grinding now is the time to replace them.
Good Luck!

Triumph oil is pretty pricy, might want to use Mobile one, it works great!
Where is the engine oil dipstick located?
Now a days some bikes are provided with dipstick and some with level glass. You can see the level of oil through that glass and keep it topped up at the accurate level, neither too high nor bolow the minimum level. More oil increases the oil pressure and may hamper the linear O ring while too low increases the corrisson may reduce engine life.
My exhaust is popping after a short ride and when
Not too much info on what you have. If you have a power commander, I would check the maps. As for the other options. The fuel injector could be stuck open causing one cylinder to flood. Another problem could be spark plugs.
Here is how I would start. Check the spark plugs to ensure each one of them are getting spark. They they are getting spark then move on to the next step.
If this does not get spark you need to check the wires to ensure no breaks. Ohm these out for resistance. If they work then check the ignition coil / coil pack which ever you have. Make sure its producing power. If it isn't then thats the problem. If its not producing power then take the ECM to a dealer and have it checked. The cost of this repair shouldn't be more than about $150 plus a testing fee on the ECM.
After sitting for 9 months,
The old gas may have gumed up the carbs....I would put some carb cleaner with some gas stabilizor and wind her over with the spark plugs out a few times and retry.Hope this helps.
I just purchased a 2000 Triumph TT600 with
make sue no movin parts are froze up or rusted-is cylinder and crankcase lubricated--try jumpin it from a car 1st--chec for rust in fuel lines and carb--clean all rust from external--ignition parts may be corroded-let me know
Have 2000 tt600. Battery sems fine, but when i try
First thing to do is clean the battery termnials check the fluid level of the battery if it is full charge the battery and then try again if it starts then your battery is low, take the battey to a shop and have it load tested to see if it's any good. If the battery is more than 3 years old then it has worn out. If you buy aa new battery buy one that is a dry cell. it is more money but lasts longer and if hit it won't leak out acid and you never have to put water in them. If that does not fix them problem post here for more help.
How do i remove chain
Loosen nuts on bolts which maintain tension. After that remove anything in your way. Conversely, after loosening tension use a chain splitter. They are cheap and may speed up process. Don't forget to get the new link you will have to install. Regardless of which way u go, mark the exact spot on swingarm and bolts where they were originally so you may re-install to correct tension.
