How i wire a GSX-R 600 year 2003 ignition
there is a resistor inside the ignition on the black box you need, twist the RED and ORANGE wires, the orange wires are actually one wire split into two further down by the connector so cut the red and orange wires from here. you then need to join the ORANGE/YELLOW wire to one end of the resistor and the BLACK/WHITE wire to other end, clean up and protect with electrical tape and snip other two wires, you dont need them. now can you tell me what colour wires connect to each other on the right handle switch, i need to know the colours of the wires on the switch side where it connects to the main wiring harness (both sides plz say which is which!!) cheers mate
I need to connect my gas cable and also other lines
Check for ; air, gas and ignition. If the air-filter is clean, see if the gas gets to the carbs without flooding; next unscrew one spark plug, lay it on the motor connected to its wire and see if there is a spark when you rev the engine. No spark; check the ignition coil.
Extra maintenance required?
It needs checking over to see if anything need replacing, tyres breakpads, make sure all lights work and turn signals, the engine will be covered in the service
Selecting 3rd gear
Do you mean you can\'t find 3rd gear or it won\'t shift into 3rd gear? If you can\'t find 3rd gear, shift all the way down to neutral, then shift up 2 clicks. On my Suzuki Boulevard S-50 (VS-800) the shift order is 1st gear down, then up for neutral, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Your crotch rocket probably also has a 6th. If the problem is that it won\'t shift into 3rd, then you had best take it to the shop as it is not readily repairable without specialized tools and knowledge.
Headlight doesnt work
It is likely the bulb. but always check the fuse,( thay are in different places on different models) and the wireing and plugs. You should be able to get to it from a removeable panel under the cowl. The lights will usually look burnt, but not always. Remember not to touch the glass on a new bulb when putting it in.Good LuckRobert
I have a 2004 Suziki GSXR 1000 and I am having
Make sure the wireing is all connected properly, i do know that some of these units only use 1 earth wire for the whole light, where as you would have 5 wires for the earths originaly, 2 x indicators, 1 x stop and tail light, 1x number plate light, it may be that you have wired an earth into a live circuit on the new lamp, the coloure code does not always mach that of your bike, so you will have 2lives for the rear indicators, identify these by putting the wires directly to your battery one at a time, connect the indicators using the indicator live wires only to the new unit, the stop light using the live wire only, and the rear light using the original earth and rear light live
I added a slip on
A power commander would improve that rough running. You can also download the map for the power commander off their website for free.
Great choice of can too!
Not charging the battery replaced the stator but
Its a permanent magnet, unless its cracked or broken it will work.
There should be 3 stator wires going into the regulator all the same color, any pair of these will produce AC voltage , about 50v, this will show if the stators working.
If you have AC then the regulator may be bad.
