Shaft drive makes noise by back wheel

Did anybody actually read his question? He was asking about a noise in his "shsft drive" motorcycle near the final gear assembly.
To me ot sounds like the backlash is out of adjustment and/or the rear wheel tooth contact needs adjusting.

Stock headlight highbeam doesn't work, lowbeam does. How do I change the bulb? 2006 kawasaki 900 vulcan classic

Hey, Martin. There are two mounting screws that stick out of the back half of the housing just behind the seam, one on each side with their heads pointing downward a bit. Take them out, then tap the top of the front half to disengage the front half tab from the back half stop, and the front half should just drop forward into your hand. If you have the new bulb already, put on vinyl gloves -- the kind a doctor would put on before doing a prostate exam -- before opening the package it comes in. (Skin contact with the new bulb is a no-no, for the sake of the bulb.) Disconnect the modular connector from the bulb and gently remove the dust cover. Change bulbs, reconnect, snug the front half back into the housing (be sure that the word "TOP" is at 12:00), carefully reinstall the mounting screws, and you should be good to go.

Carb adjustments?

There are two screws on the carb itself. Those are what you adjust by small turns at a time to get your high side and your low(idle) side. Small flat screwdriver is what you need to use in most cases.

The fuel valve shut-off won't

It is likely to be the diaphram. The valve uses vacuum set up by the diaphrams to operate. If either is leaking, the valve wont operate.

You can first of all check the universal type with a +B on the one side and the body grounded to give the output at the center. If this is tested on the left and right sides then the flasher unit can be used. Otherwise there are many models of this type that will work with +12.Try the electronic types.

No headlight fuses and bulb

Your starter button is dirty or bad. The starter button does two things. Push it in halfway and the lights turn off to put more power to the ignition and starter. Push the button in all the way and the solenoid engages. Try cleaning the starter button. If it will not work after cleaning you may have to buy a new right switch assembly.

Wont start half the time

hows the battery voltage, 13v is good...if battery reading is a lot lower than this and over three or four years old... id change it out. but you can do a quick charging system check if you have a multimeter..with engine running run up the rpms to about 3to4 grand and watch the meter it should rise in voltage maybe getting up to 13.5 or 14volts and then as your still reving it it should regulate back down to about 13v. regulating system is good!
