I have a cb 750 f2 n 1993 and the gears clunk when
a louder exhaust will not do the trick as noise is never with the bike but way behind ( like sirens on a fire truck)
a different exhaust system may also reduce performance of the bike
however there are collectors available from an accredited exhaust shop or if your pipes are odd size , they can make up a collector from an adapter section
they will have the tools and the knowledge to do it
from a car drivers point of view, motor cyclists are never seen because they dress in black and therefore blend into the black road surface or dark surrounds or drive exactly in the black spot caused by the cabin pillars
wear high vis clothing and people will see you
Tree diagram...is there a threaded tube running
There is the steer tube that is pressed into the lower tree/clamp. This tube is threaded on the top so that you can put a nut on it after the upper tree/clamp to preload the headset when you install the front end.

Sounds like you have a bad connection at one of your battery cables. Check the connections where the cables attach to the battery, where the cables attach to the starter solenoid, where the cable attaches to the starter, and where the negative cable attached to the frame. If all connections are clean and tight look for signs of corrosion inside of the cables themselves, and if everything else checks out good, then have the battery itself tested.
Hello. I have a 1979
Yes, you need to check the points and condenser. If you have no spark an the plug this is the first part to check.
The points have a cam follower (see picture point D), this follower rides an a shaft (E) that should have flat and hi spots to open / close the points. This picture is of a single point system, but will show what parts are what. The plate moves a very small amount (C), which changes the point gap, (which also will change timing) it is not easy to see how much effect there is until it is running and you adjust the points and using a timing light. Be sure the pints contacts are clean, if the condenser and points are old you may want to replace them. Rotate the engine until your points are at max opening. Adjust the points to the desired setting, Check a manual for the gap or start with .015 feeler gage. Secure the plate and all wiring. Test for voltage with the key switch on, using a 12vdc test light, the clamp end of the light grounded to the engine block. Touch the tip to the points top contact (B) it should be hot 12 volts DC, all the way back to the Negative side of the coil (A). Now as you turn the engine slowly, the points will close and the tip will touch and the light will go out, keep turning and the light will come back on. Look for your timing marks, thru the timing window there in the point plate. Turn the engine until the light comes on, adjust the plate to move the timing to align the timing with the light just coming on. This will get you in the ball park to start her up and adjust the timing with a timing light. Hope this helps Fix Ya up.
Hi
ive just got a cb900f2
pick ups work similar to points
The coil needs power, when the points open the coil field collapses and it sparks
With pickups they trigger the electric igniton box to do the same job as points.
if you have power to the coils, when you touch a pick up with a screw driver it should trigger a spark.
You dont often get two coils fail or two pick ups fail simutanously, but a faulty ignitor box will stop all spark.
PS (not ignition related)Check the rivets in the wheels if it has them
Can't disengage clutch, plates are
Has the clutch been assembled correctly, does the centre basket spin inside the outer when plates are removed?Correct location of spacers and washers ensures it functions correctly,When assembled before replacing the case and the clutch lever pulled in all the way, you will be able to turn the centre if it is disengageing, unfortunatly you dont say what bike this is, paul
Can you tell me the
hi, normaly on these older bikes the fuse is located on the starter solenoide, under a plastic cover, you can find the solenoide by following the thick red wire from the battery, at the solenoide the wire breaks into a 1 in and 1 out arangment, check here for the fuse, hope this helps paul
I have a 1974 honda
If it's a 4 cycle engine that doesn't mix oil with the gas (2 cycle engine), then I would say that there is an oil leak, a massive one, that needs to be repaired before trying to start and run it.
Maybe the oil pan got rusty or something. I don't know.
Good luck on the repair.
I need a diagram of
If you go to bikebandit.com or babbittsonline.com you can look at the microfiche and see the expanded parts diagrams of all the assemblies on the motorcycle. Babbittsonline give you the manufacturers part numbers. They both allow you to order parts at a discount. There are many sites that allow this, but, these two are user friendly.
Removal of honda cb750 ignition switch
Most Honda ignition switches can be removed by unbolting one side of the head light, swinging it out of the way, reach up with a 10 mm socket on an extension, and unscrew the two bolts holding it in place. Once you pull it straight down you can unplug the harness from the base of the switch and remove it from the bike.
Transmission,3rd gear pops out when adding gas,how
Unless you have a Moto Guzzi, BMW,a Honda CX500, or a bike with a transmission separate from the motor. You will have to remove the motor and split the engine cases to fix the damaged transmission parts. In other words in most cases a complete disassembly of the motor will be necessary.
My cb750 cylinder head and cylinder are stuck any
First and foremost: make absolutely certain that you've got all of the bolts (and nuts) removed. Then very carefully place a flat blade screwdriver in the slots which are cast into the pieces for just that purpose. Before prying with them, however, give the sides of the head a good tap with a shot-filled rubber mallet. Just remember; it will come apart as long as you have all of the fasteners removed - and do not, under any circumstances, damage the gasket surfaces by prying against them.
Bike wont start/turnover neutral light goes out
Did the starter work when it was jumped by a car battery? If so, the problem is probably the battery in the bike. Take the battery to an automotive parts house and have it tested. Usually, they'll test the battery for free.
What is the CCA of your battery? Those big engines are hard to start and you may not have a battery with enough "Cold Cranking Amps" to turn the engine over. The old Harley Sprint (1973 & '74) was notorious for this. You really had to have a strong battery in that bike for he electric starter to work.
Some bikes have wiring that disables the starter if the transmission is not in neutral. Check on this as well.
Fuel from engine breather pipe
There are just three ways for fuel to get into the top end. As mentioned, bad valve guides (exhaust guides are just as old as the intake guides). Bad rings with raw fuel getting past the rings. Either way, fuel is getting up there. Time for a valve job and fresh bore with new pistons and rings. If able to find the parts, I would also install new cam chain and
tensioner. You have a very early CB450. Today's VIN numbers have 17 numbers. That is what didn't seem right.

Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. I already checked and a lot of parts are available for your bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site. In the event no price is shown on a particular part, the part is not in stock. www.babbittsonline.com/pages/parts/viewbybrandand/parts.aspx
