Fork Oil for ETV CAPONORD

front and rear. Panniers were full tankbag was full no topbox riding solo. THE BIKE originally shipped 20 weight oil for the forks. That was much to stiff for me. I talked with them and they suggested trying 15 weight and that 10 would probably be too soft. I tried the 15 weight and it was improved but still pretty harsh especially on small bumps. A friend with lots of experience related that he uses Silkolene 2.5 weight in his sport touring bikes (such as his Honda Hurricane and Ducati ST4). I installed 4 weight (actually aircraft hydraulic fluid, previously known to old Beemer riders as Aeroshell 4). I LOVE IT!! Compression damping is just fine. Rebound damping might be a tiny amount too little, but not enough to matter. Even dive under heavy braking is reasonable....much less than with the stock springs. ,It is difficult to get the right oil viscosity for everyone. Typically I ride 2up with wife, 400# plus gear, plus luggage, easily 440-450# total load. Even under those circunstances I may try W15 next time, but for sure not less. The Dutch WP is working with BMW, supplying the shocks and spring for the new K1200 S /R /PowerCup models. WP engineers (like Hyperpro) have designed a retrofit to the Front Springs for the Capo, as well as a rear shock. BTW, by coincidence those front springs are progressive too. They recommend from 5 to 20, depending on the typical bike loading. I suggest a look into the WP website, good stuff there. Here I am pasting some info from WP: ...the progressively wound Pro-Line front fork springs of WP Suspension play a fundamental role in the operation of your front fork. The springing and damping characteristics of your front fork can be fully optimised if the correct springs are used. Many motorcyclists know the problem of too soft front fork springs which can result in bottoming of the front fork when braking or too much movement and poor handling of the front fork during braking and acceleration. Original front fork springs can also be too hard which causes the front fork to shock the steering and the entire bike to feel uncomfortable on uneven road surfaces. With the WP Pro-Line front fork springs you are taking the first step towards optimum road holding at an attractive price. The springs, progressively wound from high-grade silicon chrome spring steel, ensure that your front fork will respond better (improved comfort), and react more controllable when compressed under braking (more stability, resulting in greater safety). In most cases motorcycle manufacturers use linear wound front fork springs which are often in the beginning but also at the end of the stroke, either to soft or to hard. Progressivity is lacking. With progressively wound WP springs you can solve this problem, once and for all. __________________ ,,,

I have an aprilia sr 50 2005 ditech , it staRts and after running for a bit and I turn it off, it wont start up again.

Hi, Please get your battery and alternator checked. Since your car can't maintain power, one of these two items would most likely be the cause. In fact, if you had a bad alternator it could permanently damage a new battery because the alternator wouldn't charge the battery for an extended period of time. Thank you.

My aprila rs50 starts fine and runs fine cold but if it heats up abit you pull the throttle and it sounds like its dieng

Instructions
    • 1 Park your RSV 1000R on a well-ventilated, level area, using its kickstand.
    • 2 Start the engine and let it idle in place until the temperature gauge built into the instrument cluster indicates a minimum internal temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the motorcycle's ideal operating temperature.
    • 3 Take note of the engine idle speed, using the tachometer needle, while the engine is running. Ideally, the engine should idle steadily at 1,250 rpm.
    • 4 Adjust the engine idle speed to 1,250 rpm, using the idle adjuster screw hidden between the lower right edge of the fuel tank and the upper edge of the right middle fairing panel. Turn the idle adjuster screw clockwise to increase the engine idle speed, or counterclockwise to decrease the engine idle speed, using a small flat screwdriver if your RSV 1000R's frame (VIN number) precedes ZD4MEE009YS000292. A plastic knob allows the engine idle speed to adjusted by hand on RSV 1000R models with a frame (VIN) numbers starting from ZD4MEE009YS000293.
    • 5 Rev the engine two to three times and observe the tachometer. The engine should return to a 1,250 rpm idle. Adjust the engine idle speed as needed, using the method described, then rev the engine again. Problems may exist within the throttle control, fuel-injection system or engine, if the engine idle speed will not hold steady at 1,250 rpm. Contact your local Aprilia service facility for assistance.
    • 6 Stop the engine, once you have obtained a steady 1,250 rpm idle speed.

Sonic gp. Why isn't it starting?

If it came with a battery, you need to put a battery in it. The battery provides the power for the spark, the stator provides power to charge the battery. You can rewire modern scooters to suit yourself. https://www.google.com/search?q=Aprillia+Sonic+GP+Battery ..

I have a Aprilia 50 Sportcity 4T 2011 that dies every mile or so, then restarts and dies again.

A clogged gas cap engine hole can cause this.

If ok, change the fuel filter(s).

A clogged filter will allow a little gas through but can keep up with demand.

To run, a motor needs fuel, air and spark Inspect all fuel lines and wires. Pull the sparkplug and see if it is burnt/wet/corroded

I have installed a new ignition on y aprillia pegaso 2008 and it wont accept the code numbers

It's not the new switch, it's the new keys that have to be programmed. The keys have uniquely coded chips in them, when you turn on the ECU uses the antenna that is by the ignition switch to look for a code that it recognises, you need to introduce the new key codes to the ECU. This is what the manual says: In case of installation of a new ignition switch the procedure is as follows: Turn ON using new key The dashboard will not recognise the key and will ask for the customer code: insert the customer code. It is 00000 when supplied. It can be changed to any numeric five digit number. Now you can enter: MENU, DIAGNOSIS (insert the service code 25973), Then select MODIFY KEYS and implement the procedure. If you are not sure about the mode switch, this is what you do: Use handlebar "mode" switch (left / right) to select "Menu" option on the screen, then press mode switch in to enter. Use handlebar "mode" switch to select "Diagnosis", press to enter. Use handlebar "mode" switch to enter the workshop code (25973). When you have selected the digit you want then press in and it will move to the next digit etc. You can't screw anything up, if you do it wrong go back or turn off and start again.

I have dim headlight & beam on my Aprilia SR50.

Most likely cause is a broken or bad earth on the dim light (power then has to go through 3 filaments in series to get to the earth on the good light).

Do you put water in a Aprilia Leonardo 125 2009

The coolant system on any engine, including bikes and scooters, does not use just water. You will need a coolant mixture which you dilute with water. There are several types of coolant mix so it would be a good idea to ask an Aprilia specialist exactly which type of coolant mix to use.
