Aprilia rs250 runs ok but
Hello kevin...the idle circuit on the mikuni carbs has most likely become restricted or you have a rich condition thats causeing it to flood at idle...These high reving 2-stroke engines never did seem to idle quite right..but man will they scoot!
Have you tried changing plugs? Go a heat range hotter to see if that helps? Check for vacuum leaks around the carb mounts... Other than that, you will have to remove the carbs and do some jet cleaning...a steel guitar string and compressed air works good to clean out those small passages.

No idle
This bike does not have an electronicly controlled idle. there should be idle control screws on the carburators, or one main adjustment. also if the bike as sat for some time you might have dirty pilot jets.

The best option is to look for a bike shop and see if they've got stickers for your bike or better still get new fairings that maybe have the stickers on them already.

Bike wont start,electric and kick
Check for spark at the spark plug and from the high tension lead from the coil. If you have spark, then check to see if bike is getting fuel. This is a 2 stroke engine, and the plugs will foul out from time to time. A visual inspection and spark test is the first step...start with the basics and move on from there.
