How to Defrost a Freezer Fast

[Edit]

Defrost your freezer quickly!
Steps
1. Turn the freezer off (unplug it).
2. Take out all the food.
3. If required, unscrew the inside-back of the freezer and expose the cooling coils.
4. Take a Wet/Dry Vacuum (this is the KEY to doing it FAST) and put the hose on the EXHAUST. (Make sure your wet/dry Vacuum doesn't blow out the contents, most don't) Use the "Car" adaptor that funnels the air flow into a very powerful jet of air. The motor heats up the air only slightly, but what it lacks in HEAT, it make up for, several times over in sheer VOLUME! This one tip literally speeds up the process considerably. What literally can take 2 hours (with a hair dryer - if it doesn't break due to prolonged use), now takes 5 minutes!
5. Just start to blow the ice from the TOP down, and keep a bunch of towels at the bottom of the freezer to soak up all the water.
Tips
1. Enjoy the rest of the day. You don't even have to put your food in another freezer or fridge, it is so FAST!
Warnings
1. If defrosting your freezer is taking too long, move the food to another freezer/fridge.

I do a similar thing but don't bother with the vacuum. Move the food out of the way and set a fan to blow room air into the open door--works great
