How to Hookup a DVD Player
Each DVD player has a slightly different way to be set up. Below are some standard steps to take, see the documentation that came with your DVD player for more details.
Steps
1. Remove the DVD Player from its box and place it where you want.
2. Hook the DVD player to the TV using the cable that came with the DVD player (most likely a "Composite" type cable with three connections at each end - they are usually color-coded yellow, white and red, hook the correct color with the matching color on your new DVD player and TV).
3. Note: Older TV's may only have a coaxial cable input. If this is the case you might want to consider purchasing an RF Modulator. There should be an article on wikihow that will help with installing an RF Modulator.
4. Plug the DVD player's power cable into an outlet. Power on your TV. Power on the DVD player. Set your TV on "AUX" (see the TV documentation on how to this) You should now see your DVD player's welcome screen. Congratulations! You are ready to watch a DVD!
Tips
1. The DVD player will most likely come with a "Quick Start Guide", which will provide basic instructions on how to set up the DVD player and start using it.
