Without knowing the make and model of the analyzer they are using, there is no way to help you.
The maker of the analyzer may have a web site where you can find codes missing from the manual they have.

check tests in the FSM book yet?
when you get a tranny code, there are tests to do.
to find out if.
the voltage to the solenoid are wrong.
the coil open or the valve dead.
or if the tranny is slipping and fooling the TCM.

31 LR solenoid opened

read the in the FSM, it shows you what to test.

on some A/t you can force it into manual mode and driver and shift manually (I have a test box, i made that does that to all cars)
but you can do that and check for tranny slip and see that all solenoid infact work and can hold a gear.

keep in mind the TCM is stupid as a brick
it cant tell of tranny slips , if the solenoid is dead 6 ways from sunday
in many cases, only that the RPM in the tail shaft is wrong.
some can check the solenoid voltage. the FSM tells you if that is true or not, so not looking and reading that first makes tests harder.

Diagnostic codes I got from 2002 lancer P0421 misfire fuel comp catlyst EVAP 02 sensor 02 htr EGR What does these code mean?

This all comes down to the catalytic converters. More than likely you will need to replace both of them plus your sensors as well. This can become very expensive with OEM equipment. I would suggest you shop around and see which is cheaper but still has good parts. Hope this helps! Have a good one!

Sounds like the mechanic has to go back and figure it out. For all we know the valves are bent now and you may have a hole in a piston. We have no idea since we have no diagnostic data to go off of.
Maybe the belt was put on wrong.
Maybe the mechanic has never done this before
There could be alot of maybe's and the only person to know for sure is the person working on the car.
I would put a diagnostic scanner on the car to see if anything looks wrong and see if any codes would indicate anthing,

1 minute won't reset any codes for the Grand Marquis. You need to dicsonnect the ground and wait 15 mins for the caps in the comp to fully discharge.
