A/C compressor replaced, now A/C does not cool properly. Had to take it back twice to original Repair shop to cool car insidethen took to new repair shop & installed dryer (don't know why first shop did not install). Will cool up to about 90-95 degrees, then not enough cooling power. A/C vent temp to 70-80 degrees. Will not cool at idle, must run at 1500 rpm to cool.

Did the old pump burn up or was it just the clutch? If it locked up or had a lot of damage it will fill the lines with debris. If so the engine system needs flushed and change the orfice tube.
also check your pressure readings on your high and low side. do you have rear air?

2008. Why isn't the air conditioning working better?

When the compressor is replaced it should have had at least 2oz of oil inserted into it. The entire system should have been flushed to remove any foreign debris ( especially if the original compressor/clutch failed ). The system then needs to be vacuumed down to remove any moisture for a minimum of ten minutes and then leak tested to ensure vacuum holds. The system is then filled with the proper charge of freon and oil and then monitored for guage pressures and signs of leaks to ensure proper operation and effective cooling

This morning I took my car to the volkswagen dealer and they said the a/c compressor is warn out.

Thry filling your ac sysstem with enough compressor oil and new cooling gas and see if then the ac will work properly. If not then you are about to have very expensive repair.

My daughter's 2000 Dodge Neon's air conditioner wasn't cooling very sell so she took it in to have freon added. The shop drained all the freon out and then tried to add new freon but none will go into the...

you need the compressor running to get freon into the system
using gauges on a manifold you allow the compressor to suck the gas in to the system until you get a pressure reading at the high side gauge
That is the correct amount of gas for the system
take it to an accredited ac specialist shop to have the job done properly

The compressor stops working. I parked the car for a week and when I came back from out of town it wasn't cooling. I took it to the dealership, they said the relay was popped out o_O. popped it in, started...

sounds like they cant find the problem, i dont think an 03 would have that kind of wiring problem, i think there guessing, could be a bad compressor, but hard to say without checking it . good luck, maybe its time for a 2nd shop to look at it.

Told I need to replace fan assembly

If the fan is coming on, you don't need a new fan. Is the A/C compressor cycling off and on with the fan? If the compressor is running fine, and the fan is the only thing cycling, I would suspect a relay first.

1991 AC not cooling the car in warm weather

You cannot just put R-134a gas in place of the old R-12 , if they had converted it for the new gas then all of the seals ,compressor and accumulator should of been changed prior to regassing.

Cooling fans will not work

No need to replace the compressor. That will solve nothing. The electrical wire connection to the compressor clutch can be replaced.

Did that shop show her the OBDII scan print out to justify any recommended repairs? Now you don't know what you've got or what the original problem was. How did the wiring get tangled up? Always let the OBDII scan print out of the stored fault history, be your guide to any repairs. You have to watch these shops, they will build you a new car at twice the cost.
