Question about Buick LeSabre

2 Answers

What would be the correct tempature my car should run. My car is a 1963 Buick Lesabre, with the 401 motor, and a 700-r transmission. Right now it runs all day long at 180, but going up a fairly long hill for approx. 7 to 9 miles the temp guage goes up 210 to 215 degrees. Is this normal temps, or should I be worring??? Thanks Ralph

Nothing to really worry about an engine can run to about 240 with out causing an alarm. a vehicle that is towing a trailer for example has to work harder and therefore get's more heat in it so a small spike in the coolant system is normal. plus or minus 10 degrees is ok.....please rate this.........thanks

Those are perfectly acceptable temp. ranges, if anything the 180 is a little low, u would get better fuel economy with a 195 t-stat

1997 buick lesabre problems

My only thought right now is a dirty mass air flow sensor. Beyond that it would require a scan tool on the transmission to detect if pressures are correct.

Identifying code for 1963 buick v8

what are you looking for ? the motor #, the model #, ? the location of the #"s is on the front top of the cylinder head just in front of the valve cover on most models. this may help JL=300 std motor, JP=300 HP motor, JT=401 motor, JW=425 motor, JX=425 2Bbl motor. you can look up Motors or Chiltons manuals to find out more.

I looking for the location and how to change out wiper motor for 2000 buick lesabre

Remove the wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Remove the reinforcement on the drivers side over the motor. The wiper motor and transmission is removed as an assembly and then separated.

Size of motor mount bolt for 2001 buick lesabre, motor mount is is good condition, however, it is missing the bolt that it is supposed to have therefore causing everything to move excessively

Don't know, but suggest you just get one from a salvage yard. A lot of GM cars would have the same mount, especially with the same engine.

Whwere is the starter on the 95 Buick Lesabre

As with most cars your starter is located on the motor right where your transmission bolts up. Generally on the bottom. Should have one large red and one large black wire running to it and one or two smaller wires that can vary in color.
