Question about 1997 Jeep Cherokee Country

1 Answer

1997 jeep country will not start.

I started up my jeep and drove it fine. parked over night. Next day, it turns over but will not run. I replaced plugs, disttributer cap and rotor. Still will not run just turns over and over.

Could it be next Ignition coil? Its the next thing on my lsit to buy.

Timing is off. Timing belt/chain may have jumped a tooth and is firing at the wrong time. If it has a distributer try turning it one way or the other and see if it starts.

98 Ford F150 w/4.6l Wont start. Hear fuel pump click. Have pressure on fuel rail. Pulled #1 plug from head and plugged back into wire. Grounded plug and cranked. No spark. Changed wires 4 and 7 four days...

have diagnostic codes checked to see if you have a cam or crank sensor fault. make sure fuel pressure is at the required pressure, just testing to see if you have fuel at the valve is not enough. replace all spark plug wires. if you replaced two then all are just as old and even when they "look good" does not qualify as "they are good". Replace coil pack. start up drive away happy

pull dist cap off and dry with a hair drier. also make sure air cleaner is clean and dry. You dont need to unhook plug wires just tip cap on side and dry with heat. and also check ign wires plugs for moisture which shorts things out.

the spark from the starter is a loose wiring or short starter, but the main thing is you can crank it,check it, you have a spark at plugs if yes check if your pump is working
