Hazard Flashers, turn signals and brake lights quit working
The hazard flashers on my 1996 Towncar quit working. Then I noticed I didn't have any turn signals or stop lights either, except for the high-mount stop light. Parking lights still work as do head lights, brights, etc. Fuses are not blown. Any idea what the problem is?
Re: Hazard Flashers, turn signals and brake lights quit...
I had the same problem on my 98 Lincolon. the problem was the hazard flasher switch on top of the steering column. I spray electrical connection cleaner into the switch and push it down and wiggle it around as well as the turn signal lever. This took about two minutes and problem solved.

Depends on the vehicle, but hazard flashers are typically the same as turn signals on the front, and are commonly the same as turn signal and brake lights on the back.
I would recommend checking both functions. It's a short walk around the vehicle and you will know when you're done that everything is working as intended
you have a separate flasher for the turn signals.this is what your problem sounds like.if all your lights are working including the signal indicator on the dash then it will be the signal flasher.if you turn on the hazard flashers and locate it under the dash, this will show you what the turn signal flasher will look like.then you will have to look for the flasher unit on the fuse panel that looks like the hazard flasher.replace the turn signal flasher and you will have your signal flashers again
Have you checked the signal light flasher? You have one for the hazard flashers and one for the turn signals. Try the hazard flashers. If they work....switch that flasher with the signal flasher....(they should be interchangeable). Follow the clicking sound to find the hazard (working ) flasher. (It just pulls out ) To find the non working signal light flasher....just look for another flasher under the dash that looks very much like the hazard flasher. Now try the signal lights again with the different flasher installed....do they work now?
FIRST Check for Blown Fuse Then Locate Flasher Units @ Fuse Block to Determine Wiitch one is Hazard Turn On Key Then Turn Syg. Feel Flashers The One you feel Clicking is For Turn The Other IS Flasher Replace this Flasher unit.
Verify the customer's concern by operating the turn signal/hazard flasher lamp to duplicate the condition.
Inspect to determine if one of the electrical concerns apply: VISUAL INSPECTION CHARTElectrical
Fuse junction panel Fuse:
15 (10 A)
29 (15 A)
Damaged multi-function switch.
Miniature bulb burned out.
If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
