Question about 1996 Lincoln Town Car

Hazard Flashers, turn signals and brake lights quit working

The hazard flashers on my 1996 Towncar quit working.  Then I noticed I didn't have any turn signals or stop lights either, except for the high-mount stop light.  Parking lights still work as do head lights, brights, etc.  Fuses are not blown.  Any idea what the problem is?

There is no flasher relay on  1996 Lincoln Towncar.  The signals are controlled by a computer.  Any idea where the computer module is?

My problem turned out to be the multi-function switch that controls the hazard flasher, turn signals, and wipers.  It is located in the steering column.  I noticed that when I repeatedly tried to activate the hazard flashers and tried the turn signals between each attempt, sometimes the turn signals would work again.  That localized the problem to the switch.  I obtained a new switch for about $90 and it cost another $90 to install it.  Everything works now.

The hazard warning lights do not come on or flash.

All other lights work normal (turn signals work).

Is there a flasher that I can change?

I had the same problem on my 98 Lincolon. the problem was the hazard flasher switch on top of the steering column. I spray electrical connection cleaner into the switch and push it down and wiggle it around as well as the turn signal lever. This took about two minutes and problem solved.

Both of my turn signals quit working at the same time... all the fuses are fine and the flashers still work....

There might be a flasher for "Hazard lights" and one for turn signals. Probably same part, swap them and see if turn signals start working, and hazards quit working.

If your hazard flashers work properly on the front does this indicates your flashers are good

Depends on the vehicle, but hazard flashers are typically the same as turn signals on the front, and are commonly the same as turn signal and brake lights on the back.
I would recommend checking both functions. It's a short walk around the vehicle and you will know when you're done that everything is working as intended

Turn signals were working...but blinking fast. now they don't work at all...replaced fuse in side panel near door and still nothing. Everything else works..headlights, wipers, hazards..what gives?

you have a separate flasher for the turn signals.this is what your problem sounds like.if all your lights are working including the signal indicator on the dash then it will be the signal flasher.if you turn on the hazard flashers and locate it under the dash, this will show you what the turn signal flasher will look like.then you will have to look for the flasher unit on the fuse panel that looks like the hazard flasher.replace the turn signal flasher and you will have your signal flashers again

Blinkers in a 1987 chevy camaro not working inside or out. what might the problem be?

Have you checked the signal light flasher?
You have one for the hazard flashers and one for the turn signals.
Try the hazard flashers.
If they work....switch that flasher with the signal flasher....(they should be interchangeable).
Follow the clicking sound to find the hazard (working ) flasher.
(It just pulls out )
To find the non working signal light flasher....just look for another flasher under the dash that looks very much like the hazard flasher.
Now try the signal lights again with the different flasher they work now?
