Question about 1995 Buick Regal

Fuel pump on 95 Buick?

A couple of times a month my car won't start. It will be running fine and i'll go somewhere. And when I'm ready to leave, the car won't start. It cranks like normal, but won't start. But after waiting an hour or two, it starts up like nothing was ever wrong. This has been getting progressively worse, and now it will just die while driving. I read you post about the Igniton coil(?), but how difficult is this to replace, and is it expensive? Or is that the fuel pump going out?

We don't have Kragen in my area.
How does one test the "fuel pressure"?
This is the problem as it stands right now........
First thing in the day I can start the car with no trouble.........
If I go some where, stop the engine,
I have a 50-50 chance that it will not start back up.
Some times I'll be driving down the road and it will just die.
If I'm lucky, I can just pop it into neutral, and restart it.
    (while coasting)
But sometimes I have to pull over and sit for about 20-30 minutes.

Have you tested the system for trouble codes? have Kragen do it, it's free, also you will need to find out if you have fuel pressure when the engine won't run, let me know.

Since I cannot get a straight answer.........
I'm just going to run it into the ground,
when it finally quits.......I'll just take off my tags and walk away.

You need to buy a fuel pressure test guage from a tool supplier or a auto parts store, NAPA, Car Quest, and others can sell you this tester, then look on the top of the eng at the manifold that supplies fuel to the fuel injectors, on that fuel manifold you will find a metal stem that looks and is like a tire valve stem, this is where you test the pressure, of course the time to test is when you have a no start with engine cranking, if you find that there is no pressure then you must replace the fuel pump, it is in the fuel tank, also replace the fuel filter with the pump r the warranty will be voided

The Problem may not be just the fuel pump, as in my case, there isn't any power to the fuel pump relay on the passenger side front fuse box under the hood. All of the fuses and relays check out good. I need to find a wiring diagram of the engine & chassis wiring to solve it ASAP! Can anybody help me with this?

My 95 Pathfinder has sat idle for a couple months and now it won't start.

letting a vehicle sit idle for months is not good !!! now you need to do some work, so get out your check book ! replace both air & fuel filters, replace spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, add fresh fuel & fuel injector cleaner to tank @ same time. why are you going from accessory to run, that doesn't make any sense, stop it, please ! now get to work, good luck !

Car starts up runs fine, shut it off to go into store, come out and it won't start. leave it for 30 minutes and it will start up fine... help!

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a relay, the ignition module, coil, fuel pump, or a list of other things.
You should be able to duplicate the problem to get it checked out.

The Bronco has TWO fuel pumps, a low pressure and a high pressure. Low pressure is located in the fuel tank, the high pressure is located....Attached to the LH frame rail ahead of the fuel reservoir.
my guest would be the high pressure pump is getting hot and shutting off, cooled down and starts back up again ??

unplug the cam sensor behind the water pump pulley; see if it starts; if it does, shut off engine; replace both cam and crank sensors because crank sensors go out in these engines

95 Buick Fuel Pump, or Filter?

do you have a dis system(direct ignition system)? If you do it is probably your crank sensor. If you don't it could be your ignition coil or distributor. You could tap on the crank sensor while starting this could help.
