The key won't turn in the ignition. We've had this problem before, but managed to get it to turn after minutes of jiggling the gear shift and key and stearing wheel. The stearing wheel is currently locked, and no one has been successful at getting the key to turn.

Its possible that you have two choice to check:
- Ignition Lock cylinder go to bad (located in the ignition switch)
- Neutral Safety Switch adjust (located on top trans)

Additionally, check wiring and harnesses connections. Keep us updated.

KEY WON'T TURN ON THE IGNITION

Hi Aldene, Your vehicle seems too young to have a problem with a worn key so I suggest that the problem was related to the position of the steering wheel and the tongue of the locking mechanism. Sometimes when the lock engages it is under the load of the weight of the front wheels, if they are not in the straight ahead position. A small movement of the steering wheel is usually enough to release the steering lock. Regards John

Steering wheel won't lock, key won't come out

If the ignition normally only locks with the vehicle in park position, then check the switch on the gear lever mechanism is working.
If not, then you'll have to jiggle and wiggle that key out or replace the ignition lock.

Ignition stuck key won't turn to start car!

Gear shift is not totally in the park position - had the same problem with a 2011 Acura TL - a rubber band kept the gear shift lever from totally seating in the park position.

Stuck eldorado key in DTS ignition now car won't start

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

Ignition locked

The ignition lock cylinder tumblers get in a bind all the time on GM vehicles. It probably has little to do with inseting the wrong key. Try inserting the correct key and "jiggle" the key in the lock. You may have to jiggle it up and down and rotate (or try to rotate) the lock cylinder forward and backward. It will probably work just fine if you can wiggle it with just the right combination. If not, you may have a damaged lock cylinder and you will have to replace it. - most likely nothing you did....I change at least two or three of these things every week...VERY COMMON.
