Question about 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
My gauge light is on and my truck won't start. it is a jeep grand cherokee 2000. I have had it for about 4yr. Never had a problem with it until now. What do you think it could be?
Such as a clicking or groaning sound when you try to start it?
And, which 'gauge light' is on?
If you have any kind of multimeter (they are very cheap) you should have someone turn the key while you watch the meter monitoring the battery voltage first on the posts, then on the clamps attached to it. The battery may be OK but there may be oxidation insulating the clamps from the posts and this will show up as one voltage at the posts and another, much lower, on the clamps themselves.
If it is the clamps, a cheap battery terminal brush from an auto parts store will clean both the posts and the inside of the clamps.
