Is the cooling fans working when the a/c is on? if not check for a bad cooling fan motor on the radiator. also what does the low side pressure show on the gauge if it is low then you may have a stuck expansion valve. what does the line prssure show on the gauges with the engine off ? if it shows more than 110 psi on both low and high sides your system may be overcharged.

A/c compresor not engaging

Yes, freon must be present in the system in order to circulate the oil that lubricates your compressor. A low pressure switch is used to stop the compressor from running if the freon level/pressure is low. This is to keep your compressor from destroying itself due to lack of lubrication.

There are also several other reasons that an A/C compressor will not engage. Proper diagnosis is required.

Ac only works 2000 rpms and above no power to compressor below 2000 prms

this cases you have to re connect in A/C S.W. if this problem comong with your vehiclefrom first time . need to check wire by code for compresor line in the socket goes to A/c s.w and re connect with + line in same socket .in case replace high presure sender on high presure line and check freon pressure / quantity 550 gm .

The a/c has a restriction & will not allow the Refrigerant to charge up. Can you tell me if this sounds like a metering device problem, or a drier blockage, or both?

this sound from expansion valve , befor refrigarator . this valve for balance presure between high/low presure lines . the drier should replace (more laod to compresor ) leve the vehicle for 20min and check persure high/ low mustnot big difrent

2004 Ford Explorer - dash light that looks like an upsidedown kettle with an explanation mark in the center...?

Yeah Its a tire pressure monitor. When the temperature decreases, the tire pressure light comes on if they are just a little bit low. I filled mine up to the proper PSI and it stopped the issue.

How do I fill air conditioner coolant.compressor is new, but I need to add coolant.

You need to evacuate mositure with a vacuum pump and then add a can of r134a with oil in the can. Then add more cans without oil. Up to the amount on the decal under the hood.
The low side charge port is behind the passenger fender well. Remove tire and the 7 fasteners holding the plastic fender liner in.

AC compressor not engaging

Hi, you should never bypass the compresor because it may cause damage to the sistem including the compresor, even if the sistem is charged if it gets a little low it may prevent the cluth to engage to prevent damage ,be sure that you have the proper freon presure.also check the ac relay and the fuse.....good luck
