I have a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3100 V6 thats been sitting for almost 2 years without being started, I changed the battery and spark plugs and tried to start it, it turns over but will not start. It sounds like it wants to start but will not start.

Odds are the fuel is stale. Gas turns if it is sat for a lengthy period of time. I would suggest :Drain the fuel tank, Take a 5 gallon can of gas. STP makes a product called (Ithink the makes is )Stihl.
It is a bottle you can see a red liquid in. It has a small measuring cup built into the top of the bottle.
Add the recommended amount to the 5 gallons of gas. Replace the fuel filter and if the plugs have not fouled, it should light right off. I'd suggest changing the oil and filter as well.
Good luck

I am going to change my spark plugs on my 1999 pontiac grand am V6 engine. I have the socket wrence and spark plugs. But I need to know the easiest way to change the rear 3 plugs.

There is a tool you can get on the internet or from
a tool supplier, to replace the front engine strut/
support, whatever it's called, you can look that up,&
it pulls the engine to the front,so you can sort of
get to the back plugs

I ran a scanner on my 2002 pontiac grand prix 3100 V6 and it reads out as multiple misfire i already changed the spark plugs, what could the problem be?

A code “multiple misfire” may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

•Faulty spark plugs or wires
•Faulty coil (pack)
•Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
•Faulty fuel injector(s)
•Burned exhaust valve
•Faulty catalytic converter(s)
•Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
•Faulty camshaft position sensor
•Defective computer

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

My 1996 grand am gt has a 3100 v6 and the top of the motor isnt getting any oil , the motor wont tach up and it dies after a few minutes could the oil pump be the only problem maybe a shut down system or...

Likely cams are beginning to seize in the head. Usually this is the result of carbon plugging the oil pump pickup screen or internal oil passages. Changing the pump will not fix this unless your pump is inside the oil pan with pickup attached. If bearing surfaces on cam are damaged, you may be able to restore oil pressure but likely have already done internal engine damage which may extend to crank bearings as well. Generally at this point I recommend a replacement engine or vehicle. I really don't like telling people this.
good luck
