Changed head on z24 nissan motor now have not got any compresion in any cylinders

    Torqued head down to right specs. Put old head back on as before i took of no1 had 170 comp now it has about 60. Do i need cam and rockers back on to give proper read out on compression.

Sounds like the head gasket is not sealed properly. Did you torque the head bolts to the right torque
when you installed them? You need to tighten the bolts in several passes starting from the middle and working your way out. Is that how you did it?

    Yes, the cam and rockers need to be installed because the cam turning is what makes the valves open and close. The valves have to seal properly to get good compression.

Is this one of the greatest vehicles of all time or what? Well over 300,000 miles and still have 175 lbs. compression all 4 cylinders - not 1 lb difference and 28-30 MPG to boot. That's why they stopped making the Z24i :).

Low compresion engine spotering

dump a little oil in the cylinder and recheck compression if no change pull off the cylinder head and check the valves
