Sorry for not understanding your question, until i read thru the answer that was posted by keemo68....I think it's a difference of terminologies....I agree with keemo and would like to add a few other places for you to check....As you know the BMW fuel gauge is connected to the navigation computer, so try the management system which is found in the fuse box....There's also fuses in the same place that could be checked out....You may be able to get the items to connect and check from a breakers yard....here where I am the guy's will let us do that, I don't know about where you are.....

It could be one of 2 things , either your gauge is faulty or the sending unit is the problem. either you can replace these yourself or have a qualified tech do it for you...please rate this

I got in my car the other day and the petrol needle just decided not to work, and is sitting below the red light.
Sorry guy, I need more info....Is your vehicle fuel injection or does it have carburetors....What is that is happening to the car? Is it flooding or not getting any fuel.... we'll try to help you when we have more answers
