I have a 2006 F150 that had a bad oil leak twice that the dealership was suppose to have fixed, that was several months ago. Last week I went to start the truck up and there was a very loud knock in the engine, so I immediately shut it off. I know if I have it towed to the dealership they will tell me it wasn't anything that they did. Do you have any clue what could have happened? Thanks.

If you oil level is to low for the oil pump to pick up, then you may have bent a push rod causeing a knoking check oil level is ok then you could have still bent a rod

I would believe the dealer techs do not go to work to
damage your vehicle

I have never gone to any dealer in nearly 50 years,
after the warrantee runs out,too expensive

I would guess that the oil leak, is such that it would
require too much work to resolve,so they want to
distance themselves from it.

2006 chevy aveo. the dipstick reads oil is full. but there is oil in the spark plug holes.did the mechanic overfill last oil change. that was 4000kms ago. dipstick still reads full oil

You have oil in the plug holes because the seals that are supposed to keep oil out are leaking-you need to remove the valve cover to replace them.

''2000 dodge grand caravan oil leak at crankcase how do i fix it''

How bad does it leak? Most cars eventually leak some. Adding oil now and then is cheaper than fixing a leak if its not too bad.

HUGE OIL consumption! My check engine light came! Loud rattling!

Sounds like an oil seal or manifold gasket. If you don't see oil in your driveway, the oil is burning off in the engine and this would cause the misfire if it's getting to the sparkplugs. Take a flashlight and look under the hood for any small pools of oil near the sparkplugs. I'd go to a different dealership for service and I'm willing to bet they'll confirm an oil seal or gasket problem. Best of luck with your problem.

2006 hyundai sonata oil filter leak

I finally figured this out. I was putting the o-ring on incorrectly. I actually had two o-rings installed.
The o-ring should not be visible when it is tightened down. The plastic should be touching the metal housing. The o-ring sits inside the housing, right above the threads, but not at the top. Two pictures attached._388.jpg
