When I try the key it makes no clicking sound. Non of the gages are moving , they normally do when the van starts.I know whats not wrong with it, hopefully the last possibility is not reality.

The starter for one. Is it not turning over at all or you hear a clicking noise. did the motor just quit and will not restart. consider that the motor could be seized up but that's a last possibility.

ok no lights or gauges go on when you turn on the key ? have someone give you a boost and see if any of that changes.

No gauges either ?... if that is the case there may be two things happening at the same time.... as in two problems. if the battery is fully charged and you hear the starter engage but not turn you have to explore the possiblility that the motor has seized.

if you have a manual find the relay for the starter... usually a bunch of fuses and relays are located under the hood near the battery. if you aren't sure which fuse is which you need to take one out at a time and check if with a multimetre for continuity... if no continuity... the fuse is blown...

My van was running and it just turned it self off now it wont start again it just clicks in the fuse pannel

Are your headlights bright or check voltage ar battery with lights on or with someone cranking engine. Cranking not below 10.5 volts. If it is replace battery.Remove terminals on battery and clean. Now go into fuses and replace starter relay with another one in box it usually says spare or remove the same one from another circuit and try cranking engine if it cranks replace relay if it doesn't have someone try to start it and you hit the starter with a hammer hard a few times while it's being cranked if it cranks all of a sudden the starter has a bad armature and needs to be replaced

My van won't turn over. I have gas in the van, just got a new radiator installed. oil is filled and transmission fluid refilled. water was poured over the spark plugs in the front and the front 3 plugs...

YEP IF SPARK PLUGS WAS OUT OF ENGINE LETTING WATER INSIDE THE ENGINE CAUSING HYDRASTATIC LOCK UP.THAT WILL KEEP ENGINE FROM CRANKING.TAKE A 1/2 RATCHETWRENCH OR BREAKER BAR AND SOCKET.TRY TO TURN ENGINE.IF ENGINE DOES TURN.THEN CHECK BATTERY CABLE FOR TIGHTNESS FREE FROM CORROSSION. CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF NOT BATTERY DEAD NEED CHARGING CHECKED REPLACED.IF BATTERY GOOD.CHECK STARTER FUSE AND RELAY.IF ALL IS GOOD STARTER SOLENOID FAULTY OR STARTER FAULTY.HAVE THEM CHECKED OUT.DUE TO LOCK OUT FEATURE TURN OFF RADIO FIRST BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OR YOUR RADIO WONT PLAY.YOU HAVE TO GET IT REPROGRAMMED.

It wont crank like not getting power

ok sounds like you have a dead battery
1) if turns but slowly:

posible causes:
1.1) old dead batery/
or underchaged battery >check altenator in this case

did you leave your headlights turnt on and drained the battery of its charge?if so get a jump start and then run the car for 30-45 mins to rechagre the battery

if you have at your disposal anothere batery that you know has a good charge
try starting your car with that batery(not using jumper cables) hook it up!
if the slugish turn over is still there

1.2) check your wire conections for corision this means completly disconecting 1 lead at a time (only on one end of that lead)and cleaning them with a wire brush or some sand paper.
(on the battery and the starter also the ground strap conection to the frame.)

2) WONT TURN OVER AT ALL:
posible causes:
2.0) dead battery >try charging it>get a jump start
2.1) blown turnkey igntion fuse
2.2) blow fuse for main har nes wires
2.3) bad starter
2.4) corosion on wire conection (most often the batery terminals)
2.5) starter replaced and hooked up incorectly.

2.6) alram system preventing the turnkey igntion system from getting power

1997 GMC Savana 5.7 L conversion van. Cranks but wont start

look under the hood on the right side where your brake fluid is..There is a black box to the farest right of the brake fluid. take off the lid to this box were you will find fuses..Reach in and feel the fuses to see if any are loose. The largest fuses in the front, push down on those and then try to start it up..Take them out look at them make sure there ok if this dont work..they the one bad might need to be replaced..

My 1997 dodge stratus 2.4l 4cylinder wont start thought it was the ignition coil so I replaced it but still wont start it cranks but doesnt turn over

check your relay box (under the hood black box) for corrosion, just had that on my van and it was a blown relay fuse from a bad connector. Also there might be an issue with the distributor itself (the thing the coil conects to) as that is symptomatic of that. To start- and for sake of ease- wiggle the black box after reseating the fuses (not the clear top ones yyou can see them blown without removing) give the box a good wiggle and a tap or two (not he-man taps mind you) while someone tries to start it. if this all is useless please let me know.

Van wont start or turn over. (battery has lots of power)

Possibly a dirty or loose battery terminal. If they are okay and starter won't click, give the small wire on the starter motor solenoid a wiggle. It could be a bad conection.

Windstar garbage

Did you try starting the van while giving it half (or more) throtle? sometimes, but not usually, after removing a battery a vehicle's computer needs to "re-learn" some of its programing. the vehicle won't start or idle without some throtle. taking the vehicle for a drive if you can get it started will get the computer working properly agian if that is the problem.

Dead van

chek the fuses in power distribution box under the hood or it may be a ground wire came loose (lights are on a different circuit ) on the engine
