CHECK YOUR FUEL PUMP RELAY, SOMETIMES WHEN THEY WEAR OUT THEY SHUT DOWN AFTER A FEW MINUTES... YOU CAN USE A JUMPER WIRE TO BYPASS IT AND SEE IF IT KEEPS RUNNING, IF SO THERE YOU GO... GOOD LUCK!

You might want to replace the fuel filter. Those symptoms are accurate for a restrictive fuel filter. IF it is, and most likely it is, the problem and left in changed can, and does, cause the fuel pump to fail. Fuel filters are cheap, pumps are not.

Takes a long time for fuel pump to prime before car will crank. sometimes 15+ minutes

Something is definitely wrong with this picture. It should only take 2 or 3 seconds for the pump to make correct pressure. Just turning the key to on turns the pump on to pressurize the system, then pump will shut off, maintaining pressure, until the computer gets an engine cranking signal, at which time pump should come back on, and stay running when engine is running.
The only way to check fuel pressure is with a fuel pressure gauge hooked onto the fuel rail. If you check and pressure is correct and doesn't drop right away, the problem is elsewhere, not in the fuel delivery. You said takes a long time before car will crank-is there a problem with the engine cranking over with key in start? That would be an ignition or starting circuit problem, not having anything to do with the fuel pressure.

possibly 4 things 1 bad ignition coil heating up then breaking down,2 clogged fuel filter,3 weak fuel pump,4 bad throttle position sensor or map sensor to check sensors simply put on hand held scanner and look for codes. replace fuel filter replace coil pack along with tune up plugs wires put fuel pressure gauge to see if fuel pump is working properly

I had a problem with your chat this morning so I am going to answer for you here. You stated that the car runs for ten minutes then quits and will not restart, if you can the first thing I woulddo is take itto a partsstore who rents out a pressure tester and pressuer text your fuel pump, disconnect the rubber hose on the fuel regulater and turn the ingtion switch to the run poastion for two seconds and watch the gauge. The pressure should read 60 PSI if not there is something wrong withthe fuel pump and if it reaches 50 PSI it should hold pressure to 30 psi FOR ONE FULL MINUTE, if it does not then replace the pump, if it holds pressure then remove the fuel pump and replace the fuel sock and fuel filter. let me know if this helps I will be watching for posts on this to contine to troubleshoot this for you.

did you check the fuel pressur on the fuel rail with a gauge or did you just unplug the pressure reg..

also you should try replacing the fuel filter first... this is cheap 6-12 dollars autozone. just becuase the fuel pump is pumping doesnt mean it its enough. There mightbe a strainer on the fuel pump that might be plugged.
